Closing ceremony
Japan won the most number of Olympic Games hosted outside Japan. To celebrate, Javelin throw champion Haruka Kitaguchi and breaking's Shigekix were the flagbearers in the closing ceremony.

Aug 11
In the last competitions of wrestling, in men's 65 kilo, Kotaro Kiyooka won the gold. Yuka Kagami won the women's 76 kilo. It's the first gold in the heaviest weight division for Japan. Japan won in all 8 gold in wrestling. The biggest feat in the event.

Aug 10
Wrestlers continued their medal streak. In women's 62 kilo, 22 year old Sakura Motoki wins the gold. A feat in the field event. Haruka Kitaguchi hurled 65.80 meters to clicnehd the gold in javelin throw. The first Olympic medal in modern penthatolon. 30 year old Taishu Sato won the silver. In diving, 17 year old Rikuto Tamai won a silver in men's 10 meter platform. He's the first ever Olympic medalist for Japan in the sport. In women's table tennis team event, Hina Hayata, Miwa Harimoto, Miu Hirano could not defeat China and finished with a silver. Japan's women team also won the silver in Tokyo.

In the new event in the Olympic Games, breaking women's 25 year old Ami won the gold. In wrestling men's 57 kilo freestyle, 28 year old Rei Higuchi clinched the gold. He was a silver medalist in Rio Olympics. In women's wrestling 57 kilo, Tsugumi Sakurai won the gold.

Aug 8
The invincible 20 year old won her first Olympic gold. Akari Fujinami overpowered her opponent in 53 kilo women's wrestling. It's her 137th match victory in a row. In sailing 470 mixed dinghy race, Miho Yoshioka and Keiju Okada won the silver.

Aug 7
Japanese wrestlers continue to collect medals. In men's 77kilo greco roman style, Nao Kusaka won the gold. Tokyo's gold medalist, Yui Suzaka took the bronze in women's 50 kilo after her opponent she lost in the first round failed to meet the weight class.

Aug 6
In men's wrestling 60 kilo greco roman style, Kenichiro Fumita wins Japan's first gold in the class in 40 years. In women's wreslting 68 kilo, Nonaka Ozaki takes the bronze. In women's skateboard park, 15 year old Kokona Hiraki wins the silver. She won the silver in Tokyo too. All 3 who reached the podium had Japanese mothers. Aug 5
In gymnastics men's individual event Shinnosuke Oka was amazing, winning the gold in the bar. He also won the bronze in the parallel bar.

Aug 4
The first gold for Japan in team fencing. In the men's fending foil, Japan defeated Italy. The gold medalists are Takahiro Shikine, Kyosuke Matsuyama, Yudai Nagano and Kazuki Iimura . In men's golf, Japan's star golfer and Masters champion, Hideki Matsuyama won the bronze.

Aug 3
In badminton's women's doubles, Chiharu Shida and Nami Matsuyama beat the Malaysian pair for the bronze. In judo's mixed team event which was launched in 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, Japan faced France. It's 6 competing against 6. Japan was leading with 3 to 1. Then gold medalist Hifumi Abe lost in the golden time which changed the mood. In the golden score competition, French gold medalist Teddy Riner defeated 22 year old Tatsuro Saito, son of a deceased Olympic champion Hitoshi. Japan finshed with a silver 2 Olympic Games in a row. In women's table tennis Hina Hayata beat Korea's Shin Yu Bin for the bronze. In women's fencing team sabre, Japan won the bronze.

Aug 2
In badminton mixed doubles, Arisa Higashino and Yuta Watanabe beat South Korea to take the bronze. In men's fencing team epee, defending champion Japan lost to Hungary for the silver.

Aug 1
A feat for Japan in women's fencing. In the women's foil, it faced Canada for the bronze competition, and Japanese women won. The team consisted of 4. Karin Miyawaki, Komaki Kikuchi, Sera Azuma and Yuka Ueno. It's the first medal for Japanese women ever. In badminton mixed doubles, Arisa Higashino and Yuta Watanabe beat South Korea to take the bronze.

July 31
In men's gymnastics all round competition 20 year old Shinnosuke Oka won the big title, giving him his 2nd gold. Tokyo Olympics all round champion Daiki Hashimoto finished 6th. In men's judo under 90, Sanshiro Murai lost to Geogian Bekauri to take the silver.

July 30
In judo's men's under 81 kilo, Takanori Nagase won the gold. It's his 2nd Olympic gold.

July 29
In gymnastics team event, Japan was in close competition against China and was 3rd until Japan's final event, the bar. But with last Olympic's all round champion, Daiki Hashimoto's great performance in the end, after he fell in the pommell vault, Japan won the gold. The gymnasts include Daiki Hashimoto ,Kazuma Kaya, Shinosuke Oka, Wataru Tanigawa and Takaaki Sugino . In men's skateboard street, last Olympic champion Yuto Horigome clinched the gold. In judo men's under 73kilos, Souichi Hashimoto finished with a bronze. Also a bronze medal for team Japan in the equesterian team event. It's the first medal for Japan in the team event. The team comprised of Ryuzo Kitajima, Yoshiaki Oiwa, Kazuma Tomoto and Toshiyuki Tanaka.

July 28
A metal rush for Japan. Judoka in the men's under 66 kilo, Hifuji Abe who was gold medalist in Tokyo won again. It was a tough day with him having treated twice for bleeding. His sister Uta also Tokyo gold medalist lost in the 2nd round. In women's skateboard 14 year old Koko Yoshizawa won the gold. 15 year old Liz Akamatsu won the silver. The first feat was achieved in fencing's epee individual men. Koki Matsushita won the gold In the men's 400 meter medly in swimming, 18 year old Tomoyuki Matsushita won the silver.

July 27
In the women's under 48 weight division of judo,3 time world champion Natsumi Tsunoda won the gold by defeating Mongolian Baasankhuu Bavuudorj. In the men's under 50 kilo division, Ryuju Nagayama lost in the first match, but was able to rise in the consolation matches and earned a bronze medal.

July 24
In men's football, Japan faced South American champion Paraguay. In the first half, Japan goaled. In the 2nd half, Japan goaled even more, winning 5 to 0.

Opening Ceremony
For the first time it's not inside a stadium.
