Final day
Kotoshogiku struggled against Aoiyama but managed to force the Bulgarian down. Both finished 6-9. Enho drove out Daiesho and clinched a majority win. Shodai forced out Asanoyama. Both finished 11-4. Kotoyuki thrust out Endo for a majority win. Endo finished with a majority loss. Abi defeated Mitakeumi who succumed to his 9th loss. Hakuho and Takakeisho stop with a hold of eachother for a while. Then the yokozuna takes action and quickly drives out the ozeki.

14th day
Enho with his left drove Terutsuyoshi down winning his 7th bout. Shodai fell down the ring to Myogiryu's shove and lost his 4th bout. Asanoyama got hold of Ryuden's belt and forced him down to clinch his 11th win. Endo managed to keep his eyes on Tamawashi and forced him down. Both are 7-7. Abi attacked Takakeisho and stepped to the side, forcing the ozeki to fall. Hakuho powerfully forced down Mitakeumi and with his 13th win, secured the Emperor's Cup. It's his 43rd grand tourney victory. It's his first championship title since he's turned Japanese.

13th day
Shodai got hold of the back of Enho's belt, picked the small rikishi up and forced him down. It's Shodai's 10th win. Asanoyama gave thrusts to push out Kotoyuki for his 10th win too. Popular Endo forced out Takarafuji for his 6th win. Takakeisho gave thrusts after thrusts against Mitakeumi and won. Hakuho quickly pushed out Abi who hit the referee. Hakuho remains on top and another win gives him the Emperor's Cup.

12th day
Kagayaki lost to Ishiura for his 4th loss. Shodai forced out Daishomaru for his 9th win. Asanowaka lost to Mitakeumi taking his 3rd loss. Takakeisho fell forward to Ryuden's thrust succumbing to his 4th loss. Hakuho fiercely drove down Endo. Endo walked out with blood stain. Hakuho is by far the leader.

11th day
Shodai was able to reverse the flow of the bout by defeating Sadanoyumi and clinched a majority win. Kagayaki pushed out Tsurigisho for his majority win. Enho moved quickly and forced out Daieisho. Asanowaka moved forward and drove out Takarafuji. Mitakeumi lost to Endo succumbing to his 6th loss. Takakeisho shoved forward to push out Aoiyama for his majority win. Hakuho got hold of Ryuden's belt, forced his opponent out for his 10th win.

10th day
Kotoshogiku lost to Oonosho succumbing to a majority loss. The former ozeki intends to keep on going. Asanowaka drove out Meisei to secure a majority win. Mitakeumi lost to Ryuden. It's his 5th defeat. Takakeisho managed to thrust out Kotoyuki. However after the bout the ozeki could not open his left eye. Hakuho got hold of Aoiyama's belt and drove out the huge Bulgarian. It's the yokozuna's 9th win.

9th day
Kagayaki pushed out Shimanoumi for his 7th win. Asanowaka forced Daieisho down for his 7th win. Mitakeumi drove out Tamawashi for his 5th win. Takakeisho attacked, pulled back, and thrust Hokutofuji down. Takakeisho had a bloody nose. Hakuho pulled away and prompted Kotoyuki to fall flat on his belly. Hakuho remains the leader.

8th day
Kagayaki drove out Kotoshogiku for his 6th win. Asanowaka pushed out Abi also for his 6th win. Mitakeumi was able to drive out Aoiyama for his 4th win. Takayasu did not appear. He suddenly told the sumo association on the day itself he was unable to fight. So his opponent for the day, Takarafuji automatically earned a win. Takayasu needs a majority win to keep his ozeki ranking. Takakeisho with powerful shoves drove out Meisei fo his 5th win. Hakuho drove out Tamawashi to keep the lead.

7th day
Asanoyama drove out Okinoumi for his 5th win. Mitakeumi who's been fighting poorly fought aggressively against Kotoyuki and won. Tamawashi attacked Takayasu. The ozeki fought back. Tamawashi's rear suddenly dropped. Takayasu won his 3rd bout. Takakeisho powerfully and quickly pushed out Myogiryu for his 3rd win. Hakuho drove down Takarafuji for his 6th win.

6th day
Ishiura and Yutakayama had to redo their bout. Ishiura won in the 2nd try by driving out Yutakayama succumbing to his 2nd loss. Kotoshogiku forced out Tsurigisho for his 2nd straight win. Enho's leg split open as he fell to Shohozan's throw. Both a 4-2. Endo forced down Asanowaka. Mitakeumi eaily lost to Takarafuji, appearing still bothered by his injured eye. Takakeisho was pushed out by Tamawashi. Myogiryu had a good hold of Takayasu and drove the ozeki out. Hakuho forced Meisei to fall on his hand. Hakuho leads with his 5th win.

5th day
Tochinoshin's return to ozeki is unlikely. He was demoted to sekiwake after a majority loss in the last tourney. He need to win at least 10 bouts to regain the title, but he pulled out for a abdomen injury. Wakatakakage, who was doing well, injured his foot the previous day and pulled out. Since Shodai lost to Kotoshogiku, there is no longer anyone with a perfect record. It was a day of poor performance of top rankers. Mitakeumi lost powerlessly to Okinoumi. It's his 3rd loss. Meisei forced Takayasu down. It's Meisei's 4th win. Takakeisho touched the dirt, losing to Takarafuji's thrust. Hakuho forced Miyogiryu down to win his 4th bout.

4th day
Newcomer to makuuchi, Wakatakakage drove out Daieisho for his 4th win. But after the bout Wakatakakage was in pain that he needed help. Shodai drove out Shimanoumi also for his 4th win. Enho with thrusts drove out Kotoeiko for his 3rd win. Mitakeumi appeared with his right eye bandaged. He had to have stitches after the injury he sustained the day before. He was driven out by Daieisho. Tochinoshin managed to throw Takarasuji by his neck and won. Takakeisho drove down Endo for his 3rd win. Takayasu was pushed out by Hokutofuji. Hakuho struggled but in the end managed to throw Okinoumi for his 3rd win.

3rd day
Shimaunumi drove down Kotoshogiku. Enho forced down Oonosho. Tochinoshin managed to thrust down Endo for his first win. Mitakeumi drove Meisei out with a bloody eye. Takayasu defeated Okinoumi. Takakeisho managed to force Daieisho on his hand. Hakuho forced Asanosho to fall on his back.

2nd day
Kotoshogiku fell to Yutakayama's thrust. Enho forced Ryuden to fall. Kotoyuki pushed Tomokaze out. Tomokaze fell down the ring and could not get up. A chair was pushed by the ring, and Tomokaze was helped up. His knee looked dislocated. Meisei forced Endo to lose balance and fall. Mitakeumi fell forward to Hokutofuji's pull and shove. Myogiryu shifted his position prompting Tochinoshin to fall. Okinoumi automatically earned a win as Goeido pulled out from an injury. Asanowaka forced Takakeisho to fall forward. Abi pushed out Takayasu. Hakuho's first thrust was not effective. The yokozuna then pulled back ans lost toe Daieisho. All champion rankers faced a loss.

First day
It was suddenly announced yokozuna Kakyru was pulling out after injuring himself during practice. So Asanoyama who was supposed to face the yokozuna was given a win without fighting. As to the bouts, Kotoshogiku who's from Fukuoka lost to Sadanoumi. Tsurugisho threw the little Enho and won. Meisei threw Tochinoshin down. Tochinoshin has been demoted to sekiwake but has a chance to return to ozeki if he wins more than 10 bouts this tourney. Mitakeumi shoved Myogiryu by his throat than pulled away, driving him down. Takakeisho pushed out Okinoumi. Takayasu with thrusts drove out Daieisho. Endo forced Goeido to fall. Goeido was in pain from the unnatural fall with his knee bent. Hakuho forced down Hokutofuji.

Takayasu announces his engagement
The 29 year old ozeki held a news conference on Oct 31, to announce he was marrying 30 year old singer Konomi Mori. But he has yet to recover from his injury which forced him out from the last tourney.
