Final day
Ura lost again, this time to hiyomaru. Abi is pushed ou by Takanosho. Takayasu thurst down Oonosho for his 10th win. Shodai pushed out Mitakeumi for his 9th win. Terunofuji faced the ozeki. The ozeki charged against Takeish and managed to win. With this victory, Terunofuji secured the Emperor's Cup.

14th day
Ura lost his 4th bout to Meisei. Takakeisho forced out Shodai for his 12th win. Hakuho faced Abi. Abi attached the yokozuna but in the end fell on his back for his 2nd loss. With that result the Swallows win was secured. And so was Hakuho's grand sumo tourney.

13th day
Tochinoshin forced down Chiyotairyu for his 5th win. Hidenoumi pushed out Takayasu while rolling on the ring. Takayasu succumbed to a majority loss. Endo and Meisei had to restart 4 times to face off. In the end Endo won. Abi had control of the bout, giving Takakeisho shoves and won. The ozeki took his 2nd loss. Shodai drove out Tamawashi for his 9th win. Terunofuji immediately drove out Mitakeumi to kee his record perfect.

12th day
Ura moved around the ring and shifted position to force Hokutofuji to fall. Both are 9-3. Abi attacked Tamawashi's throat and drove him out for his 11th win. Mitakeumi was driven out the ring by Endo for his 3rd loss. Shodai powerfully forced out Kiribayama for a majority win. Takakeisho drove Takayasu out from behind. Terunofuji forced down Meisei to keep the lead.

11th day
Abi thrust down Ura for his 10th win. Mitakeumi drove out Takayasu for his 9th win. Takakeisho gave thrusts while not getting too close to Endo and pushed him out to win. Terunofuji struggled against Ichinojo but in the end forced the younger Mongolian down to keep his record clean.

10th day
Abi thrust out Tobizaru for his 9th win. Ura forced out Kotonowaka to secure a majority win. Mitakeumi lost to Takarafuji to take his 2nd loss. Shodai forced down Takayasu as he himself fell. Takakeisho seemed not too strong. He pulled away and lost to Meisei succumbing to his first loss. Terunofuji forced out Hoshoryu to become the sole leader.

9th day
Ura leapt a little then forced Aoiyama to touch the dirt. It's Ura's 7th win. Tamawashi powerfully drove out Hidenoumi. It's his 7th win. Mitakeumi went back and forth and drove out Meisei to clinch a majority win. Takakeisho gave thrusts, and in the end fell as he pushed Hoshoryu out. He seemed to have fallen on his knees and looked like he was in pain. Shodai lost to Endo on the verge of the ring. Terunofuji got hold of Takayasu's belt and drove the former ozeki ou. Takakeisho and Terunofuji keep their records clean.

8th day
Abi attacked Hidenoumi's throat and drove him out for his 7th win. Ura shifted position and forced Chiyotairyu down. It's his 6th win. Tamawashi lost his 2nd bout to Tobizaru. Takayasu got hold of Chiyoshoma's belt and drove him out for his 5th win. Mitakeumi quickly forced Okinoumi out the ring for his 7th win. Shodai forced down Myogiryu for his 5th win. Ichinojo and Takakeisho fell of the ring, and the bout was given to Ichinojo. But the juries decided to make an inquiry into the verdict. The bout went to the ozeki because Ichinojo did what he was not supposed to. He pulled the ozeki's topknot during the bout. Takakeisho secured a majority win. Terunofuji pushed out Endo also clinched a majority win.

7th day
Abi was forced to roll on the ring by Hokutoriki and lost his first bout. Tochinoshin drove out Ishiura for his 2nd win. Ura lost to Endo. Takakeisho charged into Okinoumi and pushed him out. Shodai got hold of Takarafuji to drive him out. Terunofuji threw Myogiryu with his right to win.

6th day
Abi forced down Sadanoumi for his 6th win. Ura grabbed Takayasu's leg and forced the former ozek down. Mitakaeumi managed to thrust down Myogiryu for his 5th win. Shodai and Takanosho had to redo their bout. In the 2nd attempt, Takanosho drove the ozeki out. Takashoryu quickly pushed out Takarafuji. Terunofuji got hold of Okinoumi's belt and forced him out.

5th day
Abi forced down Akua for his 5th win. Tochinoshin fought his first bout this tourney, with his rear feeling better. The Georgian drove out Kagayaki. Ura forced chiyoshoma to fall on the dirt to win his 4th bout. Takayasu forced out Hoshoryu for his 4th win. Mitakeumi lost his first bout driven out by Wakatakekage. Takakeisho pushed out Myogiryu to keep his record clean. Shodai was driven out by Oinoumi taking his 2nd loss. Terunofumi threw Takanosho with his right to win.

4th day
Tobizaru forced Ura down, succumbing to his first loss. Takayasu appeared as if he was in full speed to drive out Shimaunoumi, but no. The bout, stalled. He took over 3 minutes to finally throw Shimanoumi with his right to win. Endo managed to force Hoshoryu down on the dirt. Mitakeumi pushed out Ichijo for his 4th win. Shodai quickly pushed out Wakatakakage. Takakeisho and Daieisho gave eachother thrusts. The ozeki shifted his position then forced Daieisho down. Terunofuji managed to drive out Oonosho.

3rd day
Ura drove down Hoshoryu for his 3rd win. Myogiryu forced out Takayasu. It's the former ozeki's first loss. Mitakeumi threw Daieisho with his left. Takakeisho immediately thrust down Kiribayama. Shodai forced Oonosho to roll on the dirt. Terunofuji pushed out Wakatakakage.

2nd day
Ura pushed out Kotoeiko for his 2nd win. Takayasu and Takarafuji found a long bout. After 3 minutes trying to reach for eachother's belt, Takayasu gave an underarm throw to win. Endo charges low against Myogiryu who shifts position. But Endo was not affected, and forced down Myogiryu. Shodai went into Ichinojo and drove out the Mongolian. Takakeisho gave powerful thrusts to drive out Oonosho. Terunofuji was in danger pinned to the edge of the ring, but he gave a throw to defeat Daieisho.

First day
Grand Sumo Tournament returns to Fukuoka for the first time in 2 years. Former yokozuna Hakuho wore a blue jacket. His first job since retiring will be as a security guard. Tochinoshin pulled out on the first day due to a rear pain. His opponenet of the day, Yutakayama was given a win. Aoiyama drove out Tobizaru. Ura suddenly ducked and grabbed Tamawashi's leg, forcing him down. Hoshoryu threw Shimanoumi down. Takayasu and Endo had to redo their bout after tying in their fall. In the 2nd try, Takayasu easily forcoed out Endo. Ichinojo drove out Okinoumi. Mitakeumi showed a powerful shove to defeat Oonosho. Takakeisho gave thrusts after thrusts, pulled back and forced Wakatakegake down. Shodai was driven down the ring by Daieisho. Terunofuji tried a throw, then hooked his leg around Kiribayama. Finally he forced Kiribayama down.

Terunofuji as the only yokozuna
As Hakuho announced on Oct 1, he is no longer fit to perform as yokozuna and retired, Terunofuji is the only yokozuna.
