Final day
Ura pushed out Chiyoshoma for his 10th win. Tochinoshin picked up Kotoeiko and took him out the ring for his 7th win. Shodai pushed out Takayasu to clinch a majority win. Takayasu succumbed to a majority loss. Hakuho and Terunofuji faced eachother. When the time came for them to fight, they stared at eachother for a while. Terunofuji made the first move by skooting down, waited for Hakuho to do the same. Teru waited with both fists touching the dirt. Then Hakuho touched the dirt and stood to fight. He slapped Teru. Pulled back. He grabbed Teru's arm and forced a throw. Hakuho drove Terunofuji down on the dirt. It's his 45th grand tourney victory. After the bout,it was announced Japan Sumo Association will hold a meeting to discuss Terunofuji's promotion to yokozuna.

14th day
Ura got a good grip of Meisei and forced him out for his 9th win. Terunofuji and Takayasu fought hard against eachother. In the end, the ozeki forced out the former ozeki. Hakuho took position near the verge of the ring for his face off. He did not immediately face off, prompting Shodai to make the first move. He slapped Shodai a few times and shoved down the ozeki.

13th day
Tochinoshin showed power by driving Tsurugisho out. It's his 5th win. It appeared Ura killfully drove down Kaisei, but the judges ruled, he had pulled Kaisei's topnot, which is illegal. It's Ura's 5th loss. Tamawashi pushed out Takarafuji for his 10th win. Kotonowaka drove down Chiyoshoma for his 10th win. Kagayaki and Tobizaru had to redo their bout. In the end Kagayaki won. Hoshoryu and Ichinojo had to redo their bout. Hoshoryu threw to win his 9th bout. Terunofuji and Shodai had a competitive bout. Terunofuji pushed out Shodai. Hakuho forced Takayasu to fall and won again.

12th day
Takayasu and Kiribayama struggled against eachother and fought for 3 minutes. In the end Kiribayama drove out the former ozeki and secured a majority win. Shodai forced out Okinoumi for his 7th win. Terunofuji with a powerful thrust forced Meisei out of the ring. Hakuho drove out Mitakeumi. The 2 leaders continue to keep their records perfect.

11th day
Kotonowaka lost to Shimanoumi taking his 3rd loss. Ura forced down Kiribayama for his 7th win. Takayasu thrust down Tobizaru. Terunofuji powerfully forced out Mitakeumi. Shodai fell in the bout against Hoshoryu. Hakuho drove down Wakatakekage.

10th day
Kotonowaka drove out Ichiyamamoto to secure a majority win. Ura pushed out Chiyono kuni for his 6th win. Takayasu thrust down Wakatakekage. Shodai quickly forced down Mitakeumi. Terunofuji immediately drove out Chiyotairyu. Hakuho forced out Okinoumi. The 2 Mongolian born champions keep their records clean.

9th day
Takayasu thrust down Hokutofuji for his 5th win. Terunofuji drove out Okinoumi. Shodai moved a lot in the ring prompted by Meisei's tricky moves, but in the end managed to push out Meisei. Hakuho easily forced out Chiyotairyu.

8th day
Ura lost to Ishiura Tochinoshin drove down Ooamami for his 3rd win. Takayasu forced out Mitakeumi for his 4th win. Shodai quickly threw Hokutofuji with his left. Terunofuji thrust down Tobizaru. Hakuho forced out Kotoeiko and with him, went down the ring falling on top of one of the judges. Terunofuji and Hakuho clinched a majority win.

7th day
Ura went low into Tsurugisho and drove him out. Tochinoshin lost to Shimanoumi. It's his 5th loss. Takanosho pushed out Takayasu.Both are with 3 wins. Terunofuji pushed and pushed to drive out Kotoeiko. Ichinojo quickly drove Shodai out the ring. Shodai succumbed to his 4th loss. Hakuho had a strange bout. At several point he and Tobizaru where standing apart, looking at eachother. Hakuho stuck his head against Tobizaru's, grabbed his belt and threw to win. It was a bout fought over a minute.

6th day
Ura pushed forward to force out Ichiyamamoto and earned his 3rd win. Tochinoshin pushed out Chiyonokuni for his 2nd win. Takayasu drove Daieisho down for his 3rd win. Shodai managed to walk out Kotoeiko. Terunofuji quickly drove out Ichinojo. Hakuho moved back and thrust down Hokutofuji.

5th day
Tochinoshin shifted to the side forced Terutsuyoshi to fall and earned his first win. Meisei drove down Takayasu. Both are 2-3/ Terunofuji forced a throw to beat Hokutofuji. Tobizaru pushed out Shodai, who succumbed to his 3rd loss. Hakuho walked out Ichinojo to keep his record clean.

4th day
Takayasu fought aggressively and forced Endo to touch the dirt. It's his 2nd win. Wakatakekage pushed out Shodai. Both are 2-2. Daieisho attacked Terunofuji. The ozeki manages to withstand and instead drive him out. Hakuho faces risk of losing several times, but in the end drives Takanosho down.

3rd day
Ura forced himself into Chiyomaru to force the round rikishi out. Takayasu joined the tourney from this day. He drove out Ichinojo. Takakeisho withdrew due to a neck injury sustained the previous day. Meisei was automatically given a win. Terunofuji fought a long bout against Takanosho. In the end, the ozeki with a twist forced Takanosho down. Endo forced Shodai to roll on the dirt. Hakuho performed a powerful throw to be Daieisho.

2nd day
Ura lost to Chiyono-ou. Tochinoshin was driven out by Chiyomaru. Terunofuji fought cautiously, and in the end was able to force out Wakatakekage. Shodai forced down Taieisho. Ichinojo drove out Takakeisho. The ozeki fell off the ring, and could not move for a while. He called for a wheelchair and was ushered out. Hakuho forced Endo to fall and won his 2nd bout.

First day
Sumo travels to Nagoya for the first time in 2 years. Ura is back in makuuchi after 4 years since his injury that placed him out from fighting. He showed his signature flexible move. Ooamami attacked him, but Ura withheld and forced his opponent down while falling off the ring. Kotonowaka drove out Tochinoshin. Mitakeumi forced out Ichinojo. Ozeki Shodai drove out Takanosho. Daieisho shoved and shoved but Takakeisho stepped aside to drive him down. Terunofuji forced Endo out. Hakuho was back. He had a close bout against Meisei. Both threw eachother, but Hakuho was pronounced the winner.

Pre Tourney highlight
Asanoyama is suspended for 6 grand tourneys
The ozeki has violated COVID-19 rule by going out to a bar during the state of emergency and while he was fighting in the last tourney. He will lose his rank of ozeki and fall below juryo, losing his position as a high ranking rikishi.

Hakuho to fight for his career
Hakuho is under pressure. Of he withdraws again or does not perform well, he is expected to give up sumo. The 36 year old has not completed fighting in 6 tourneys in a row.
