Hibiya Park is a green oasis of quiet in the heart of Tokyo.
The park was open in 1903 as the first Western-style garden in Japan, and it was designed as a modern city park of the time.
There were several 'daimyo' mansions including that of Matsudaira Hizen-no-kami on this site until the end of the Edo period.
Various colorful species bloom in the flower gardens throughout the year, giving pleasure to people visited this park.
Tokyoite enjoys strolling in the gardens on a holiday.
Of course on weekdays, the park supplies a lunch space for office workers in the neighborhood.
