The Jindaiji temple is located in the quiet suburbs of Tokyo, 14 km to the west of
Shinjuku.
The original temple was built in 733.
Most of visitors enjoy not only seeing autumn tints in the precincts, but also eating 'soba' (Japanese noodles).
The approach to the temple is filled with souvenir shops and 'soba houses'.
The special product 'Jindaiji soba' is famous as good buckwheat noodles.
In this season you can also enjoy walking in colorful rose gardens in Jindai Botanical Park near the temple.
In late autumn we often visit the historic wooden temple which has the view with red leaves of maple trees in the precincts, and enjoy seeing the most fantastic scenery in the year.
