Panorama TOKYO : Odaiba 2

The Rainbow Promenade is on Rainbow Bridge spanned Tokyo Bay. You can get the super view of Tokyo Port and the whole of the Tokyo Waterfront Subcenter with the foreground of the historic spot Daiba there. Looking right under the promenade, the vertical view dazzles your eyes. It is 52.4 m in height above sea level.

In 1853, Commodore Perry of the United States Navy arrived off Uraga in his 'black ships' to force Japan to trade with America. Cannons were placed on islands in Tokyo Bay to protect the city of Edo, and these islands were thus known as 'Daiba' (cannon emplacements). The 3rd Daiba is now open to the public as part of Odaiba Marine Park.
