Panorama TOKYO : Ikebukuro in the Evening

Sunshine 60 Building at Higashi-Ikebukuro is 240 m high. It was completed in 1978, and was the highest building in Japan untill the completion of Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building at Nishi-Shinjuku. The 360 degree panorama from the observatory on the 60th floor has been popular to tourists. As a small number of high-rise buildings is around Ikebukuro, the view is not quite interrupted by the surrounding buildings. The horizon seems to be raised higher. You can feel actually the megalopolis Tokyo with endless streets and buildings.

The low pressure had passed in this afternoon, and it had stopped raining. The air on the ground was saturated with moisture, so visibilities were little poor. However, several buildings in front of JR Ikebukuro Station was particularly light in the background of the evening glow seen through the opening of the clouds.
