Ichiro wins Gold Glove
Ichiro was awarded the Gold Glove for the 2nd straight season in the American League. It was on November 13 during his Japan homecoming.

Ichiro was a member of the MLB all star team to face the Japan all stars from Nov. 10. It surprised fans that he could not hit himself on base until the 3rd game.

September 27
Ichiro was 3 in 5 and he even stole base. The Mariners clinched the game in the 12th inning 7 to 6 over the Anaheim Angels.

September 26
The Mariners took the lead but was caught up in the 9th inning and in the 10th inning its loss was finalized. Ichiro did not have a hit. It was a 5 to 3 victory for the Oakland Athletics. The Mariners hope to advance to the playoffs vanished.

September 25
Ichiro had one hit in an exciting game which the Mariners again reversed in the 8th inning. Mike Cameroon blasted a 2 run homer. Kazuhiro Sasaki closed the game. The Mariners won 3 to 2 over the Oakland Athletics.

September 24
Ichiro kicked off the game with a home run. He had another hit. The Mariners was losing but in the 8th inning clinched the lead and defeated the Oakland Athletics 8 to 7.

September 22
Ichiro with his 2nd hit of the day marked his 200th hit of the year. It's for the 2nd year in the row he's had so many hits, and only the 7th player to make the mark for 2 straight years. The Mariners also won the game 3 to 2 over the Anaheim Angels,

September 21
Ichiro hit a runner back home to contribute to his team's win of 6 to 4 over the Anaheim Angels. His batting average is .320.

Ichiro tripled. But that was all. His team had a devastating game of 1 to 8 against the Anaheim Angels.

Ichiro had only one hit but got on base several times. He's stole base for the 30th time. However in the end, the Mariners lost to the Texas Rangers in the 10th inning 7 to 12.

Ichiro had only one hit. Out in the field he caught a difficult fly. The Mariners clinched the game in the 11th inning 3 to 2 from the Texas Rangers.

Ichiro had 3 hits. Also, he was walked with bases full in the 11th inning contributing to the final win of 6 to 5 over the Texas Rangers.

Ichiro finally had a hit after a series of no hit games. It was the first in 16 times at bat. His team at last won after 6 losses in a row, 6 to 3 to the Oakland Athletics.

We're finally seeing a better Ichiro. He with a bunt got himself on base. He also doubled. But in the end the Mariners lost to the Texas Rangers 3 to 4.

Ichiro did not get a hit again, meaning he's been without one for 3 games. Fortunately, his team managed to win the game 16 to 9 against the Kansas City Royals in the 11th inning.

A baseball strike was off, and games were all played as scheduled on the day. Ichiro had one hit only. His batting average at this point .336 or 3rd in the league. As much as he's losing steam his team lost to the Kansas City Royals 5 to 1.

Ichiro did not have any hits. Still he team was able to beat the Minnesota Twins this time 2 to 0.

Ichiro had 3 hits. And his batting average slightly improved to .342. The Mariners this time defeated the Cleveland Indians 12 to 4.

August 24
Ichiro had a hit and an RBI. But they weren't enough for the team. The Mariners in the final inning again succumbed to the Cleveland Indians 3 to 5. The Mariners with the loss fell to 3rd place. Ichiro's batting average too is 3rd in the league.

August 23
Ichiro tripled. And served as a breakthrough hit for the team to hit in runs. However in the end the Mariners lost to the Cleveland Indians 2 to 4. The team fell to 2nd place in the league standing.

August 22
Ichiro had only one hit. But his team not only beat the Detroit Tigers 3 to 2, the Mariners was back on top in the league standing

August 21
Ichiro had 2 hits. The Mariners exceed the Detroit Tiger in the 8th inning. And Mariners won 8 to 2.

August 20
Ichiro was back on the right field. He showed great performance out there. But he would not get himself on base other than through a walk. The Mariners lost again to the Detroit Tigers 3 to 6.

August 19
Ichiro had 2 hits. He tried once to steal 2nd base, but failed. He did achieve an RBI too. However the Mariners lost the game to the Detroit Tigers 3 to 4 and fell to 2nd place.

August 18
Ichiro was walked 3 times. Twice was deliberately by Roger Clemens. He came home once, but did not have a hit. His team however this time defeated the New York Yankees 5 to 2.

August 17
After a no hit day the previous day Ichiro was back on track. He had 2 hits. And he fielded out in centerfield replacing Mike Cameron. The Mariners however lost its 2nd straight game to the New York Yankees 8 to 3.

August 15
Ichiro batted in a run again with his one hit. The Mariners won 4 to 3 over the Boston Red Sox.

August 14
Ichiro had 2 hits. In the 7th inning he hit a runner back home. His batting average slightly improved to .346. However, the Mariner were clobbered by the Boston Red Sox 5 to 12.

August 13
Ichiro contributed a lot with his bat. Withe the game a tie in the 3rd inning, he batted in. In all, he had 2 hits. The Mariners beat the Boston Red Sox 10 to 3.

August 11
Ichiro had only one hit again but he stayed on top. The Chicago White Sox won 6 to 5.

August 10
Ichiro was on base 3 times, once on a error, another with a ball smashing into his arm. He had only one hit. He's batting at .345 as of the end of the day. The Mariners clinched a game it was losing to the Chicago White Sox 7 to 3.

August 8
Ichiro's batting average slipped with only one hit in 5. But he emerged back to first place. That's because his rival, Kansas City Royals' Mike Sweeney has been out too long. The Mariners beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3 to 1.

Ichiro marked his 400th hit in MLB. He had 2 hits this day. The Mariners managed to clinch the game in the 10th inning, 5 to 4 over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Ichiro got himself on base 3 times. He's hitting .350, which is still 2nd. His team however, in the end lost to the Cleveland Indians 8 to 10.

This time Ichiro achieved 2 hits. He hit in one home and contributed to the Mariners 12 to 4 win over the Cleveland Indians. But he's still hitting 2nd in the league.

Ichiro had a 2 base hit. He was walked once. He's still hitting 2nd at .350. Most important, his team defeated the Detroit Tigers 5 to 2.

Ichiro at last hit himself to first, after playing the past games hitless. And his team clinched a victoyr in the bottom of the 10th. With bases loaded Mark McLemore gave a surprising squeeze play to take his team to a 5 to 4 win over the Detroit Tigers. Ichiro at .351 is 2nd in the league.

July 27
Ichiro did not have a hit, lowering his batting average to .358. But his team won 3 to 1 to the Anaheim Angels, clinching back first place in the division.

July 26
Ichiro had just one hit this time. And the Mariners failed to defeat the Anaheim Angels in a shut out game of 0 to 8. The Mariners as a result fell from the first spot in the American League West, while the Angels clinched it.

July 25
Ichiro was splendid he had a whooping 3 hits. One of them, a 3 run homer. He's hitting .363. And his contribution has given the Mariners a 7 to 2 win over the Texas Rangers.

Ichiro had 2 hits again but his team lost this time 3 to 4 to the Texas Rangers.

Ichiro had 2 hits including a homer. He's hitting .358 staying on top. He helped his team beat the Texas Rangers 4 to 1.

Ichiro did something he's never done before in the US Major Leagues. He slammed 2 home runs for 2 consecutive times at bat. However, his team in the end lost to Tampa Bay DevilRays 3 to 4.

Ichiro had 2 hits. One of them he earned due to his sprint to first base. he's still top in the batting average ranking. His team won 2 to 1 to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

July 11
Ichiro was 2 in 5. His batting average at.358 returned to first place. The Mariners defeated the Tampa Bay DevilRays 4 to 0.

July 9: ALL STAR GAME in Milwaukee
Ichiro was the lead off man, and faced Arizona Diamondbacks'Curt Schilling. He hit to first and was out. He grounded the ball again in his 2nd time at bat. He was replaced in the 4th inning. The game ended a 7 to 7 tie after 11 innings--the 2nd time in history for the All Star game to end a tie.

July 7
Ichiro had his first hit in 3 games. He was 2 to 4. His batting average at .357 is 2nd in the league. His team defeated the Minnesota Twins 8 to 2.

July 3
Ichiro had a 2 base hit. Although it was his only hit of the day, he still remains on top in the batting average. The Mariners won 3 to 0 to the Kansas City Royals.

Ichiro had 2 hits. He stole base too. But his team, in the end lost to the Kansas City Royals 7 to 5 as Kazuhiro Sasaki could not close the game smoothly.

July 1
Ichiro was 3 in 4. His batting average exceeded that of Kansas City Royals' Mike Sweeney right before his opponents eyes to clinch back first place. The Mariners also won 7 to 0 over the Royals.

Ichiro had a hit a stole base. But his team in the end lost. Kazuhiro Sasaki could not save the game. It was 3 to 4 against the Colorado Rockies. Ichiro that day learned that he earned the most votes in the American League to qualify him into the All Star game.

For the 2nd game in a row, Ichiro did not have a hit. His batting average fell to .358. He lost the top place. However, the Mariners managed to defeat the Oakland Athletics 1 to 0.

Ichiro had 3 hits. His 2nd one marked his 100th this season. His average is up to .375. However, his team lost to the San Diego Padres 3 to 5.

Ichiro hit a double for the 4th game in a row. Although that was his only hit of the day, his batting average was still the highest in the league at .373. The Mariners won 5 to 3 to the San Diego Padres.

Ichiro had a good game. He had 3 hits, including a 3 base. His team overwhelmed the St Louis Cardinals 10 to 0.

Ichiro had his first homer of the season at his first time at bat. He had 2 more hits to improve his batting average to .384. But his team lost to the Oakland Athletics 4 to 10.

Ichiro had 2 hits again, but when he tried to take home, he was out and that spoiled the mood of the game. In the end the Mariners lost to the Oakland Athletics 2 to 3.

Ichiro was again third on the line up and playing out in the field this time. He was 2 out of 5. His batting average improving slightly to .376. The Mariners defeated the Oakland Athletics 4 to 1.

Ichiro was third on the line-up and a designated hitter. He was marvelous hitting 4 out of 5. His batting average climbed to .375. Although the Mariners were behind by 6 runs, with Bret Boone's grand slam, the Mariner defeated the Baltimore Orioles 11 to 8.

Ichiro had 2 hits, and he stole base. His batting average at .365 is still number one. But the result of the game was a disappointing 3 to 4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.

Ichiro had a base hit. And although his batting average went slighly down to .361, he's first. The Mariners, however, lost to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 1 to 5.

Ichiro took part as a designated hitter. He was 2 in 4, improving his average to .363. He's become the top hitter. The Mariners won 8 to 1 to the Baltimore Orioles.

Ichiro claimed a base hit off Boston Red Sox Pedro Martinez. He stole to 2nd too. But the Mariners lost 1 to 3.

In the 4th inning, with the bases loaded, Ichiro doubled. He earned 2 RBIs. It was a precious hit which game his team a 6 to 3 win over the Boston Red Sox.

Ichiro had 2 hits and earned 2 RBIs. But the big contributor was Mike Cameron who blasted a grand slam. The Mainers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 15 to 2.

Ichiro did it again. He helped his team catch up with the Toronto Blue Jays in the 9th inning with 2 outs with an RBI. And it was a game without Kazuhiro Sasaki. In the 11th inning, the Mariner again clinched the game. It was 8 to 7. Ichiro had 2 hits in all.

It was a big day for Ichiro. He not only had 3 hits. He was THE contributor to the day's win. In the 10th inning, Ichiro got on base on a bunt. He stole base too. And he came home to give the Marines a 5 to 4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Ichiro was 4-2. And batted in 3 RBIs contributing to his team's 10 to 6 win over the NY Yankees 9 to 5.

Ichiro had a base hit, and was walked in the final inning which lead to his team's breaking the draw. The Mariners defeated the NY Yankees 9 to 5.

Ichiro was 5 to 3. His batting average improved to .327. His team had a quiet win over the New York Yankess compared to the previous day 6 to 2.

Ichiro was on base 3 times and came home 3 times. He was 4 to 1. But the star of the game was definitely Mike Cameron who blasted 2 homers in the first inning with Bret Boone, and had 2 more on his own in the game. The Mariners defeated the Chicago White Sox 15 to 4.

April 30
Ichiro appeared to be back in shape after hurting himself against the fence. He was in the starting line-up and had 2 base hits. However, the Mariners lost to the Chicago White Sox 4 to 8.

April 26
Ichiro hurt himself out in the field in the 4th inning. He tried to catch a fly ball, and banged his knee into the fence. He continued to play though, and in the next inning got himself a base hit. He left the game after that since his knee won't stop bleeding. The Mariners lost to the NY Yankees 1 to 7.

April 22
Ichiro had 2 base hits improving his batting average to .333. And the Marines overwhelmed the Anaheim Angels 16 to 5. By the way, Ichiro was selected by "Time" as one of the twenty some Asian Heroes.

April 21
Ichiro tripled twice. And as Kazuhiro Sasaki closed that game smoothy, the Mariners defeated the Texas Rangers 5 to 3.

April 20
Ichiro had a base hit, but also got on base after being hit in the elbow. He was also walked in the 11th inning he was deliberately walked. The Mariners in that inning got a runner home through the walks, and clinched the game from the Texas Rangers 3 to 2.

April 19
Ichiro could not get a base hit. His consecutive game hit record ended at 11. And so did the Mariner's winning streak end at 10. The Mariners lost 0 to 9 to the Texas Rangers.

April 17
With bases loaded, Ichiro's turn to bat came in the 8th inning. He doubled and all runners on base came home. The Mariners won 7 to 4 against the Oakland Athletics.

April 16
The game was on and then put off due to the rain. But Ichiro was "on" most of the time. He double, got on base on a grounded infield ball, and he also drove the ball to the left. The game was ended in the 7th inning. The Mariners defeated the Oakland Athletics 6 to 2.

April 15
Ichiro was at bat 7 times in the 10 inning game. He was walked twice, he had 2 base hits getting his batting average to .316. His team played a competitive game against the Texas Rangers which was in the 9th, put to a draw by Mark McLemore's error, but the very same man in the 10th singled to get in 2 runs. The Mariners won 13 to 11.

April 14
Ichiro had 2 hits to get his batting average above .300. The Mariners clinched the game 9 to 7 over the Texas Rangers.

Ichiro faced Hideki Irabu of the Texas Rangers for the first time in the US, and the first time in 6 years. Ichiro took to first and also stole base, but he didn't get on base the next two times at bat. Ichiro had another base hit close to the end. Irabu's team got runs in ahead of the Mariners. But Irabu succumbed to Mike Cameroon's 2 run homer which which the Mariners caught up. In the end, the Mariners won 9 to 4.

April 12
Ichiro missed a game and was back this day. He had only one base hit, however. His team won 7 to 3 over the Texas Rangers.

April 10
Ichiro had a base hit and a sacrifice fly which gave him an RBI. His team defeated the Anaheim Angels 8 to 1.

For the first time this season, Ichiro had more than 2 base hits. He got on base by grounding the ball in field, and he also doubled. The Mariners defeated the Anaheim Angels 5 to 1.

Ichiro had a base hit and also stole base. His team clinched a close game of 5 to 4 against the Anaheim Angels.

His 2nd at bat, Ichiro was grounded out, but the Mariners got a runner into home. Then in the 9th, Ichiro had a 3 base hit. On it, 2 runners came home. But the Mariners did not do enough. It lost to the Oakland Athletics 5 to 6.
