Ichiro wins enormous contract
It was unveiled that on Dec 18, Ichiro signed a 4 year contract worth 44 million dollars with the Mariners. It's made him the highest paid player with the Mariners. It's also the first time a Japanese player's secured an annual earning of 10 million dollars.

Ichiro wins Gold Globe
It was announced on Nov 4 that Ichiro was awarded the Gold Globe for the 3rd time.

September 28
Ichiro got himself on base in the 4th inning. He stole to 2nd. It's his 34th steal this season. The Mariner beat the Oakland Athletics 9 to 3. After the game Ichiro told reporters it's the first time in his pro baseball career that he could not breathe properly. For the first time in MLB, Ichiro finished the season without a title. His batting average ended .312 or 7th in the league.

September 27
In the 6th inning,Ichiro was on with runners on first and third. He hit in an RBI. In the 8th, he got himself on base again. The Mariners won 7 to 4 against the Oakland Athletics.

Ichiro has been performing poorly in past games, but at last in this game he contributed. He got himself on base 3 times and the Mariners defeated the Oakland Athletics 9 to 3.

Ichiro was suddenly amazing. In the 4th inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd he hit them both home. In all he had 4 hits, and recorded over 200 base hits for the 3rd year in a row. The Mariners beat the Oakland Athletics 9 to 3.

Ichiro singled and tripled, but it did not help the team as it lost 4 to 6 against the Texas Rangers.

Ichiro hit a runner home with grounded ball. In the 5th inning, he slammed his 13th homer. The Mariners in the end beat the Anaheim Angels 7 to 4.

In the 5th inning, Ichiro hit to the left and got himself on base. He stole to 2nd. His team beat the Texas Rangers 8 to 2.

September 10
Ichiro started the game with a 2 base hit. He later came home. Everyone was surprised when there was a sudden black out, but soon the game was resumed. The Mariners in the end won 3 to 1 over the Texas Rangers.

September 9
In the 3rd inning Ichiro doubled. He did again in the 8th inning. But his team in the 10th inning lost to the Texas Rangers 4 to 5.

September 6
In the 3rd inning, Ichiro hit to the left. In the 6th, he got himself on base on a grounded ball. But his team lost 1 to 3 against the Baltimore Orioles.

September 5
Ichiro was backing starting the game after missing the previous one. He hasn't been batting well. But good news for Ichiro fans. In the 6th inning, he swung in a 2 run homer. The game turned out to be very competitive. In the 13th inning, Ichiro hit himself on base. In the end, he came home. The Mariners clinched the game 6 to 4 over the Baltimore Orioles.

September 2
At last, for the first time in 3 games, Ichiro had a base hit. It was in the 8th inning with runner on first. He tripled and earned an RBI, which also gave the Mariners a lead over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. But the Devil Rays caught up and the game was extended. The Mariners batted in 3 runs in the 11th inning. It won 10 to 8 game over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

August 30
Ichiro is not looking any better. He's the only one in the starting line up who did not get a base hit. And his batting average fell further to 4th place. The Mariners, however, overwhelmed the Baltimore Orioles 13 to 1.

August 29
At last in the 9th inning, Ichiro got himself on base. He in fact served as a break through to his team. His teammates followed and with John Olerud's hit with bases loaded, the Mariners won 3 to 2 over the Baltimore Orioles.

August 28
Ichiro was unable to hit himself on base. And as he has not be impressive during the past few games, his batting average fell to .325, and giving up top place. The Mariners lost 2 to 3 to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Ichiro doubled in the 7th inning. But the Mariners ended up losing against the Boston Red Sox 4 to 6.

August 21
Ichiro only had one base hit. It was in the 8th inning, he drove the ball to left. But the Mariners ended up losing 3 to 7 against the Toronto Blue Jays.

August 20
It was a Japan night. There were Japanese musical performance and a ceremonial pitch by Takeshi Honda, Japan's leading figure skater. Ichiro hasn't been hitting multiple hits lately, and this day he had only one base hit. It was in the 5th inning. His team lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 2 to 5.

August 16
In the 8th inning, Ichiro hit to the right. He advanced to 2nd and then stole to 3rd. But the Mariners lost this game 1 to 5 against the Boston Red Sox.

August 15
Ichiro exploded after a hitless day. In the 6th inning, he had a grand slam. And he had 2 more base hits taking his team to a 10 to 5 win over the Boston Red Sox.

August 13
Ichiro started the game with a base hit. In the 6th, with runners on first and third, Ichiro tripled. Then in the 8th inning, he hit to the right field. The Mariners clinched the game over the Toronto BlueJays 13 to 6.

In the 7th inning, Ichiro gave a laser beam throw to 3rd and killed the runner. In the 8th, he hit to center. The Mariners beat the Toronto BlueJays 3 to 1.

Ichiro started the game with a 2 base hit. In the 5th, he hit to center. In the 9th, he had an infield hit. But the Mariners lost to the Toronto BlueJays 3 to 5.

Ichiro double in the 7th inning to earn a RBI. He also came home on Boone's hit. In the 8th, he got himself on base on a bunt. He came home again on a walk. The Mariners won 8 to 6 over the NY Yankees.

In the 6th inning, Ichiro doubled. He advanced to third on a bunt, and came home on a sacrifice fly. The Mariner this time beat the NY Yankees 2 to 1.

Ichiro had just one base hit. Out in the field, he showed a terrific diving catch. The NY Yankees defeated the Seattle Mariners 9 to 7.

August 7
After a no hit game by Ichiro in the previous game, this time he got himself on base. But he had only that one hit. The Mariners lost to the Cleveland Indians 0 to 3.

August 5
Ichiro kicked started the game with a triple. Next, he hit to center. He also hit to the right. His team defeated the Cleveland Indians 2 to 1.

August 3
With bases loaded in the 5th inning, Ichiro was up to bat. He hit to the left. 2 runners came home. The Mariners beat the Chicago White Sox 8 to 2.

August 2
Ichiro got himself on base at last through a base hit after 2 hitless games. His team overwhelmed the Chicago White Sox 10 to 0.

July 30
In the first inning, Ichiro had a hit to left. An accident occurred while Ichiro played out in the field in the 5th inning. As he tried to catch a fly ball, he rammed into Mike Cameron. Ichiro seemed to have hit his head. But he went up to bat, and got himself on base. After that, however, Ichiro did not play. The Mariners in any case had a whooping win over the Tigers 13 to 3.

Ichiro marked his US career 600th hit in the first inning. In the 2nd inning, he doubled. He also stole to 3rd. The also marked his first double play of the season. And the result. The Mariners beat the Tigers 11 to 5.

In the 6th inning, Ichiro hit to the right. He was 1 for 2. His team faced a devastation lost of 1 to 10 against the Texas Rangers.

In the first inning Ichiro hit past the pitcher. That was the only base hit for him. The Mariners lost 3 to 7 to the Texas Rangers.

In the 5th inning with runner on first and second, Ichiro drove the ball to the left field. In the 7th, he couldn't bunt himself on base, but helped the team advance a player who later came home. The Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 4 to 0.

The game was a tie, but Ichiro changed that in the 4th inning blasting a 3 run homer. Then in the 6th, he hit to the right. The Mariners defeated the Texas Rangers 11 to 5.

Ichiro was 2 for 5, and his batting average improved slightly to .340 to keep first place, The Mariners however lost to the Oakland Athletics 0 to 3.

July 23
At last in the 8th inning, Ichiro doubled. His batting average was stagnant a .339 but returned to lead the league. The Mariners won 6 to 0 over the Oakland Athletics.

July 22
Ichiro had 6 times at bat but couldn't get himself on base at all. His batting average fell to .341, and he gave up first place. However, his team beat the Minnesota Twins 10 to 8.

July 21
Ichiro started this game after only pinch hitting in the previous. In the 7th inning, he hit to right and welcome a runner home. However the Mariners lost to the Minnesota Twins 5 to 4.

July 18
It was only in the 9th inning Ichiro got himself on base. But it was with a tremendous performance. He grand slammed. With that the Mariners took the lead and in the end won 6 to 3 over the Kansas City Royals.

July 17
In the first inning, Ichiro was hit by a pitch. But it did not damage him. He stole base. Then in the 3rd inning, he hit to right. He had another base hit. But the Mariners lost to the Kansas City Royals 1 to 7.

All Star Game
Ichiro garnered the most number of votes to play in the All Star Games in Chicago on July 15. It's his 3rd appearance in a row. He was walked twice. He showed a great catch in the 4th inning. In the end, his American League clinched the game 7 to 6 over the National League.

July 13
Ichiro got on base via a hit that attacked the Tampa Bay Devil Rays' starting pitcher. In the 4th inning he hit to the right. In the 6th, he tripled. His batting average improved to .352, becoming the league leader. His team at the same time won 13 to 2 over the Devil Rays.

Ichiro had a base hit. His most astonishing performance out in the field. He showed a great catch. And the Mariners defeated the Atlanta Braves 2 to 1.

Ichiro had 2 hits, including a bunt hit. His team beat the Montreal Expos 1 to 0.

Ichiro tripled. He also got to first on a grounded ball. But his team lost to the Montreal Expos 7 to 3.

Ichiro played a double header. In the first game he was incredible. He had 4 base hits, and also marked his 100th steal in the US. The Mariners overwhelmed the NY Mets 13 to 1. In the next game Ichiro had 2 base hits, and the Mariners won again 7 to 9.
