Ichiro awarded Gold Glove
It was announced on Nov 2 that Ichiro won the Gold Glove for the 6th year in a row. His lazer beam hurl from the outfield to catcher Kenji Jojima seemed to have been highly rated.

Ichiro led off the game with a home run. It's his 9th this eason. He had another base hit. His team beat the Texas Ranger 3 to 2 in his final game of the season.

Sept 25
Ichiro was incredible. He had 5 base hits. And his team, in the 10th inning defeated the Oakland Athletics 10 to 9.

Ichiro had 2 hits and also stole base twice. But his team lost to the Chicago White Sox 7 to 12.

In the first inning, Ichiro singled. In the 3rd, he marked his 200th hit of the season. It also means he's achieved 200 hits 5 years in a row in the MLB. And that wasn't all. He doubled in the 9th inning. But his team lost to the Kansas City Royals 4 to 7.

Against the N.Y. Yankees in the 7th inning, Ichiro hit himself on base, and came home too. In the 9th, Adrian Beltre homered to take the Mariners to a 6 to 5 win over the Yankees, and taking his team out from a long slump.

Ichiro had a base hit in the first inning. In the 2nd inning, with a runner on 2nd, he had a hit and the runner came home. But the Mariners lost to the Texas Rangers 6 to 10.

Ichiro started out with a 2 base hit. He came home. And in the end the Mariners beat the Tampa Bay DevilRays 2 to 0.

Ichiro got himself on base in the first inning, and stole 2nd. In the 3rd, he had doubled. This marked the 1279th hit for Ichiro in the U.S. exceeding the number of hits he achieved in Japan. The Mariners defeated the Toronto BlueJays 7 to 4.

Ichiro opened the game by catching a ceremonial pitch by former teammate Kazuhiro Sasaki. Ichiro hit well, getting himself on base 3 times and stealing to 2nd once too. But his team lost 3 to 12 to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Ichiro had 3 base hits, stole base twice, and even came home. His team defeated the N.Y. Yankees 3 to 2.

Ichiro had 3 base hits. That included a double in the 11th inning. But his team lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in the end, 3 to 4.

July 11:All Star game
Ichiro was on the All Star squad for the 6th time. And he was on the starting line-up. But in the game he was unable to hit himself on base. The American League defeated the National League 3 to 2.

Ichiro had a base hit in the 5th inning and stole base too. In the 9th, he tripled, but did not come home. In the 11th he homered. But his team in the end lost to the Colorado Rockies 3 to 4. There was good news for Ichiro. It was learned on the day that he won votes to make it to the all star games.

In the first inning, Ichiro singled and also stole base. In the 3rd, he doubled and stole base to third. He eventually came home. The Mariners won 4 to 1 against the L.A. Angels.

Ichiro had 3 hits, but his team lost this time 3 to 7 against the Minnesota Twins.

In the first inning, Ichiro homered. In the 4th, he made an infield hit. His 6th inning hit marked his 2500th career hit. The Mariners beat the Minnesota Twins 10 to 9.

Post 2006 season
Ichiro joins team Japan
Ichiro played in the first World Baseball Classic. He was only 1 to 2 Major Leaguers. The other was Akinori Otsuka. He not only hit well, ran well, but he proved to be a great sports, leading the team to become the first world champion on Mar 20.

Ichiro joins Buffaloes camp
On Feb 11 and 12, baseball fans in Miyakojima in Okinawa were lucky. Ichiro joined the Orix Buffaloes to play a practice game. He had a base hit in the first game and doubled in the 2nd. He left for Kobe thereafter.
