Ichiro did it. In the 2nd inning, he recorded his MLB career 1500th hit. He had another base hit. the Mariners beat the Oakland Athletics 14 to 10.

Ichiro was back after being hit by a pitch on the elbow in the previous game. And he hit a double in the first inning. He also stole to 3rd. He had another base hit, and his team beat the Baltimore Orioles 4 to 2.

July 13
Ichiro announced before the game that he's renewed his contract with the Mariners. He'll play with the team for another 5 years. And although the fee was not disclosed, it's reported to be for 90 million dollars. Ichiro bowed to fans just before the game against the Detroit Tigers. He had a base hit, but his team lost 3 to 6.

July 10:All Star Game
Ichiro made his all star appearance 7 straight years in a row. And he started. In the first inning, he had a base hit. And he did in the 3rd inning too. In the 5th, he slammed the ball which banged into the fence and bounced on the field. During that time, Ichiro ran home. It's the first ever inside the park home run. The American League managed to beat the National League 5 to 4. Ichiro was awarded MVP.

July 8
Ichiro started with a 3 base hit. He had another hit. When he came home in the 7th inning, the pitcher of the Oakland Athletics banged into Ichiro and that got infuriated both teams. At any rate the Mariners won 7 to 3.

June 30
Ichiro had 3 hits, improving his batting average to .368. The Mariners beat the Toronto Blue Jays 8 to 3.

June 27
Ichiro had an RBI hit of the Red Sox Daisuke Matsuzaka. He was struck out twice, but in the extra ending, he got himself on base, and came home for the team's 2 to 1 win.

June 26
Ichiro's consecutive hit record ended the previous game. But in this game he hit himself on base twice. His batting average is .362. His team managed to defeat the Boston Red Sox 8 to 7.

June 21
Ichiro hit in the first run for his team. In the 7th inning he, for the first time in the U.S. faced former Japanese superstar Masumi Kuwata pitching 2 innings for he Pittsburgh Pirate. He was struck out. But the Mariners won 3 to 0.

June 20
In the 2nd inning, he hit himself on base. He stole 2nd, and also 3rd. His team defeated the Pittsburgh Pirate 7 to 0.

June 19
Ichiro continues to do well. He had 2 hits and stole base too. But the Mariners lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 3 to 5.

Ichiro was amazing. He had 4 base hits. but his team lost to the Houston Astros again. Its 3 to 10.

Ichiro seemed desperate to help his team win. He had 3 base hits, and stole twice. But his team lost to the Houston Astros 4 to 9.

In the first inning, Ichiro hit himself on base. In the 6th, he tripled. In the 8th, he made it to first. But the Mariners lost to the Chicago Cubs 2 to 3.

Ichiro contributed with 2 base hits, including an RBI which helpd his team defeat the Baltimore Orioles 5 to 4.

Ichiro walked and then stole to 2nd. It's 47 successful steals in a row which is an American League record. But his team lost to the Boston Red Sox 7 to 8.
