Irabu wins minor contract with Rangers
Although it was not with the proper Texas Rangers, at least, Irabu was able to sign with triple A Oklahoma. This was on Dec 27.

Irabu's contract terminated
It was learned on Sept 6, that the Expos have fired Irabu. His agent, Dan Nomura said that at this point there are no offers. Following the rejection, Irabu played in the Puerto Rican league.

WITH THE MONTREAL EXPOS IN 2001
June 13
Irabu started against hist former team. The team he hard fought to get into. The New York Yankees. But he gave up 5 runs in 5 2/3 innings, taking his 2nd loss. The game ended 9 to 3 for the Yankees.

June 6
Irabu pitched 6 innings. He gave up only 2 runs. But he did not receive support from his teammates, and succumbed to his first loss. Expos lost to the Atlanta Braves 0 to 2.

May 31
Irabu started for the first time this season. He's been out due to problem with his right arm. Irabu was suddenly homered in the first inning, but until the 5 innings that he finished, he gave up only a sacrifice fly. He was off the mound with the game tied 2 to 2. The Philadelphia Phillies in the end won 5 to 2.
