September 26

The Mariners were losing the game until the 8th inning, but Mike Cameroon with a 2 run homer changed the outlook. And in the 9th inning with out out, Sasaki was summoned to pitch and closed the game. The Mariners won 3 to 2 over the Oakland Athletics. It's Sasaki's 37th save.

The Mariners was 6 to 4 over the Anaheim Angels when Sasaki pitched the 9th inning. He closed the game and won his 36th save.

September 18
It was in the 10th inning Sasaki was on. In the bottom of that inning the Mariners clinched the game from the Texas Rangers 3 to 2. Sasaki won his 4th game.

September 16
Sasaki was on with the Mariners ahead in the 9th inning. But he gave up 2 runs. The game was extended. In the 11th inning the Mariners won 6 to 5 over the Texas Rangers.

September 15
The Mariners at last played a game with a lead that Sasaki could finish. He was able to finished the final inning smoothly. His team at last won after 6 losses in a row, 6 to 3 to the Oakland Athletics. The win game him his 35th save.

September 8
Sasaki almost ruined the game giving up 3 runs in 1 1/2 innings. But with the game extended, and in the 11th inning, his team blasted in runs to clinch the 16 to 9 over the Kansas City Royals.

September 2
The Mariners was ahead of the Minnesota Twins by 3 runs in the 9th inning. Sasaki was on. This time he pitched smoothly. THe Mariners won 5 to 2. Sasaki took his 34th save.

August 31
The game was tied with runners on first and second in the 9th inning when Sasaki was summoned to pitch. But he gave up base hits after another. The Mariners lost to the Kansas City Royals 2 to 4.

August 29
It's a while since it was a game close enough with the Mariners taking the lead for Sasaki to pitch. He hurled the 9th inning without trouble. The Mariners beat the Minnesota Twins 2 to 0, and Sasaki earned his 33rd save.

August 22
Sasaki was on in the 9th inning. He closed the game. His team not only beat the Detroit Tigers 3 to 2, the Mariners was back on top in the league standing. Sasaki clinched his 32nd save.

August 18
Sasaki at last had a chance to face the NY Yankees after his team lost 2 games in a row. He closed the 9th inning to gain his 31st save in the game his geam beat the New York Yankees 5 to 2.

August 15
Sasaki had a smooth 9th inning to clinch his 30th save. The Mariners won 4 to 3 over the Boston Red Sox.

August 7
Sasaki was homered in the 9th inning. The Toronto Blue Jays caught up with the Mariners. But in the 10th, the Mariners managed to clinch the game to win 5 to 4 over the Toronto Blue Jays. He finished that inning and also earned his 3rd win.

August 4
The Cleveland Indians caught up with the Mariners by the time Sasaki was on. Sasaki was not in good shape. He lost 2 runs, and his team was defeated 8 to 10. He faced his 5th loss.

August 2
Sasaki was on in the 8th inning. A runner got on due to an error, and he walked one too. The bases were loaded but he managed not to lose any runs. He closed the game 3 to 1 and earned his 29t save.

July 31
Sasaki closed the game. He won his 28th save in a 5 to 2 game against the Detroit Tigers.

July 29
The Mariners with only a run ahead got Sasaki on the mound. Sasaki this time saved the game hurling 2/3 inning. He clinched his 27th save. The Mariners won 4 to 3 over the Detroit Tigers.

July 28
The game was no score for both when Sasaki took the mound in the 9th inning. He appeared unlucky giving up back to back hits to the Anaheim Angels. And both runner proceeded on a wild pitch. A runner came home on a long line drive. The Mariners lost 0 to 1 to fall again to 2nd place. Sasaki faced his 4th loss.

July 27
The Mariners were ahead by 2 runs when Sasasaki came on. And he saved the team in a 3 to 1 game over the Anaheim Angels. He clinched his 26th save. His team returned to first place in the American League west division.

July 23
The Mariners took a 3 run lead and Sasaki was summoned to pitch. He faced an unlucky hit, but he was able to keep the opponent from scoring. The Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 4 to 1. Sasaki won his 25th save.

July 18
In the 9th inning, the Mariners reversed the lead from the Texas Rangers. Sasaki closed the final inning and earned his 24th save. It's in the 5 to 3 game.

July 14
Sasaki is reported to be exhausted. But he managed to close the game without any major struggle and earned his 23rd save. The Mariners defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 7 to 6.

July 12
In his first game after the All Star break, Sasaki safely closed the game. His team won 2 to 1 to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Sasaki his 22nd save.

July 9: ALL STAR GAME in Milwaukee
The American League took the lead when Sasaki was summoned to pitch. But he allowed 2 runs and 3 hits in the 7th inning and left the mound. The game ended a 7 to 7 tie after 11 innings--the 2nd time in history for the All Star game to end a tie.

July 7
Sasaki was on in the 8th inning with 2 outs. His team was ahead by 2 runs at the time. He closed that rest of the game and in the end the Mariners defeated the Minnesota Twins 8 to 2. Sasaki won his 21st save.

July 4
Sasaki was on again. The Mariners were ahead by only one run. Sasaki closed 2/3 inning scoreless. The Mariners won 2 to 1 over the Minnesota Twins, and Sasaki clinched his 20th save.

July 3
This time Sasaki's 9th inning pitch was a smooth one. The Mariners won 3 to 0 to the Kansas City Royals. Sasaki earned his 19th save.

July 2
Sasaki was on in the 9th inning with the game a 5 to 5 tie. It was again a nightmare. He gave up 2 runs, and the Kansas City Royals in the end won 7 to 5. It's Sasaki's 3rd loss.

June 30
Sasaki could not save the game. In fact he gave up 2 runs in the 9th inning and the Mariners lost to the Colorado Rockies 3 to 4. It's his 2nd loss. But the good news for Sasaki this day was that he was recommended to the All Star squad.

June 26
Sasaki came on in the 9th inning in a very tough game. But he did his job as a closure. The Mariners won 1 to 0 to the Oakland Athletics. For Sasaki it's his 18th save this season and his 100th overall in the US.

June 20
Sasaki took over from Shigetoshi Hasegawa in the 8th inning, as Shige lost 2 hits. Sasaki closed the game and collected his 17th save. The Mariners won 3 to 2 over the Cincinnatti Reds.

June 19
With the Mariners a head by 2 runs, Sasaki pitched in the 9th inning. He gave up 2 hits. But he closed the game all right. The Mariners defeated the Cincinnatti Reds 2 to 0. Sasaki earned his 16th save.

June 14
Sasaki completed the 9th inning. He struck out one too. And as the Mariners won 5 to 3 to the San Diego Padres he gained his 15th save..

June 8
Sasaki pitched the final inning and earned his 14th save in a 4 to 2 game against the Chicago Cubs.

June 3
Sasaki won his 13th save in the 4 to 1 game over the Oakland Athletics.

June 1
When Sasaki was up to pitch, the Mariners led. But he fielded badly and lost 2 runs. He had to take his first loss in the 3 to 4 game against the Baltimore Orioles.

May 30
With the Mariners ahead by just one run, Sasaki came on to pitch the 9th inning. He again had a smooth inning to earn his 12th save. The Mariners defeated the Baltimore Orioles 5 to 4.

May 29
Sasaki pitched the 9th inning without problem. He earned his 11th save and his team defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 5 to 2.

May 17
Sasaki was on with his team leading by 3 runs. He closed the game perfectly, and earned his 10th save in 6 to 3 win over the Boston Red Sox. His ERA is by the way still 0.00.

May 16
Sasaki's turn to pitch came in the final inning as usual. The Mariners were ahead by 2 RBIs. Sasaki hit a player with the ball, but he managed to avoid losing a run. The Mariners won 8 to 5 over the Toronto Blue Jays. Sasaki earned his 9th save.

May 11
Sasaki was already back from Japan pitching. He was on with his team leading by 2 RBIs in the 9th inning and closed the game all right. It's Sasaki's 9th save in a 3 to 1 game over the Boston Red Sox. By the way, it was reported that Sasaki agreed to a 8 million dollar annual contract with the Mariner for the next 2 years. At this point, he's secured the highest annual contract not only among Japanese in the US Major Leagues, but among those playing in Japan as well.

May 8
Sasaki earned a win from the Toronto Blue Jays.It's his second. But it was thanks to his teammate Ichiro who in the 10th inning got on base on a bunt. He stole base too. And Ichiro came home to give the Marines a 5 to 4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Sasaki was actual on when the Mariners were ahead in the 9th inning. But he got runners on base due to an error as well, and on a sacrifice the Blue Jays caught up. He is reported to have left for Japan immediately after the game for personal reasons.

April 27
Sasaki hurled 23 pitches during the 9th inning, to close the game without losing a run again. The Mariners won 1 to 0 over the NY Yankees. Sasaki won his 7th save.

April 23
It was in a 1 to 0 game with the Mariners barely winning over the Anaheim Angels, Sasaki pitched the final inning. And he finished the game safely to earn his 6th save.

April 21
Sasaki pitched the final inning with the Mariners ahead. He closed that game smoothy, and the Mariners defeated the Texas Rangers 5 to 3. Sasaki collected his 5th save. He has not lost a run yet this season.

April 17
Sasaki was back to his role as a closure. He too 2 outs in the final inning, and earned a save in the 7 to 4 game against the Oakland Athletics.

April 15
In the see saw game Sasaki's turn to pitch came in the 9th inning. But what happened was Mark McLemore errored which cost the Mariners a run. Then in the 10th, the Mariners batted in runs to take the lead. Shigetoshi Hasegawa took over from Sasaki that inning. The Mariners clinched the game 13 to 11 over the Texas Rangers. Sasaki earned his first win, while Shige his first save.

April 14
Sasaki came on after Shigetoshi Hasegawa in the 8th inning. He pitched 1 1/3 inning, and clinched his 3rd save in the game 9 to 7 over the Texas Rangers.

April 8
His team was just a run ahead of the Anaheim Angels when he got on the mound to pitch in the final inning. He closed the game all right and earned his 2nd save. The Mariners won 5 to 4 against the Anaheim Angels.

April 2
Sasaki's first performance this season came in the 9th inning. He took over after another Japanese Shige Hasegawa who joined the Mariners this season. He closed the game 7 to 4 against the Chicago White Sox and earned his first save.
