The Pacific League's starter Toshiya Sugiuchi lost 3 runs in the first inning. In the 4th inning, the Marines slugger, Lee Seung Yeop slammed a 2 run home run. The Giants Kimiyasu Kudo pitched. He's 42 years and 2 months old. He became the oldest pitcher ever to take part in the all star games. MVP went to the Carp's Tomonori Maeda who hit in 3 runs. The Central League won again 5 to 3.

July 22 Invoice Seibu Dome (25,761 audience)
The first game's starting pitcher for Central League was Koji Uehara. Already in the first inning, he gave up a home run to the Fighters Michihiro Ogasawara. For the Pacific League, Daisuke Matsuzaka was the starting pitcher. He gave up the Giants Kazuhiro Kiyohara an RBI hit, which hit the ceiling of the dome. In the 5th inning, homered off Fumiya Nishiguchi of the Lions. It's his all-star career 13th home run, tying with the record held by the legend, Sadaharu Oh who also led the Pacific as the head coach. The BayStars Tatsuhiko Kinjo hit in 3 runs to win the game's MVP. The Central League won 6 to 5.
