2011 ALL STAR GAMES

July 24 Kleenex Stadium (21,347 audience)
This game was not scheduled earlier this year. But it was hastily planned taking on the March 11th disaster. Kleenex Statium is in Sendai, one of the cities damaged by the earthquake and tsunami. 4000 kids were invited. Starting pitchers, Yoshinori Sato of the Swallows who hails from Sendai. Representing Sendai's team, Masahiro Tanaka of the Golden Eagles to start for the Pacific. Akinori Inaba of the Fighters hit off a 2 run home run. The Pacific had a successful relay of pitchers after Tanaka, including Yu Darvish, and Yuki Saito. The Pacific won 5 to 0. MVP went to Inaba.

July 23 QVC Marine Field (27,311 audience)
Marines pitcher Karakawa started for the Pacific League. He shut out 2 innings. The big contributor with the bat, Takeya Nakamura of the Lions. He slammed 2 home runs. Also the Giants Hayato Sakamoto homered. But the Pacific side won 4 to 3. Nakamura was names MVP.

July 22 Nagoya Dome (38,008 audience)
Starting for the Central League Hitoshi Iwase of the Dragons, and for the Pacific League Hayato Terahara of the Buffaloes. It became a historic all star game. In the 5th inning, the Swallows'Takahiro Araki slammed an equalizing homer. Then on his teammate Kazuhiro Hatakeyama's 3 run home run went ahead. Wladimir Balentien homered. Then Hisayoshi Chono did too. It was 4 home runs in 1 inning. And it was all of the Fighters Masaru Takeda. Taking over from Takeda, super rookie Yuki Saito. He was able to stop the Central League from hitting further runs. Still, Central won 9 to 4.
