MASATO YOSHII WITH THE MONTREAL EXPOS IN 2001
September 22
Yoshii started for the first time since July 7. In 6 innings, he gave up only one run. The Expos defeated the Colorado Rockies 3 to 1. And Yoshii clinched his 4th win.

August 8
Yoshii picked up a win at last after pitching in many games. He pitched from the 10th inning against the St Louis Cardinals when the game was a tie. The Expos scored in the 11th inning, to lead 6 to 5, and Yoshii earned his 3rd win.

July 7
After pitching in the middle of several games, Yoshii was again a starter. In this game he gave up 3 runs of which he was accounted for 2 until the 5th inning. The Toronto Blue Jays finished the game 9 to 8. Yoshii's record was not tainted.

June 23
Until the 3rd inning, it appeared Yoshii was pitching smoothly. But the 4th inning was tragic. Yoshii, pitched until the end of that inning giving up 6 runs. And the Expos lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 4 to 7. Yoshii succumbed to his 5th loss.

June 18
Yoshii pitched 6 0/3 innings during which he lost only 2 runs. But as the Expos lost to the New York Mets 1 to 2, he had to take his 4th loss. He did not get to face Tsuyoshi Shinjo.

June 9
Yoshii pitched 6 2/3 innings and gave up only 1 run. He was not credited with a win though, unfortunately, although his team defeated the Baltimore Orioles 4 to 2.

June 3
Yoshii was pretty stable with his pitches, although he gave up 3 runs in 5 2/3 innings. His team batted in runs after runs, that he was able to pick up his 2nd win of the season in the 10 to 3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. For Yoshii it's his first win as a starter.

May 19
Yoshii started for the first time this season. But all was over for him in 4 innings. He lost 3 runs of which he's accounted for 2. But that was nothing compared to the result of the game. The Expos lost to the San Diego Padres 7 to 20. Yoshii's record is 1 win 1 loss so far.

April 28
Yoshii was the 4th to pitch against the Milwaukee Brewers. He had a tough inning. But managed to finish just the 7th without giving up a run. However in the end, the Expos lost 4 to 8.

April 26
Yoshii got the chance to pitch in a very competitive game. It was from the 13th inning against the St Louis Cardinals. It pitched 3 innings, giving up only 2 base hits and no runs. And the Expos 4 to 3 victory gave him his first win of the season.

April 20
Yoshii was on from the 6th inning. He pitched 2 innings against the Florida Marlins. He did not give up any runs. But his team lost 1 to 5.

April 16
This time, Yoshii, managed to keep from losing runs. He pitched 1 2/3 innings against the New York Mets. And he faced a Japanese. It's Tsuyoshi Shinjo. Shinjo went for the first pitch, but grounded it to shortstop. The Expos, however, lost 4 to 0.

April 13
Yoshii was the 3rd pitcher to pitch the day for the Expos. However, he did not impress the coaches. In 2 inning, he gave up 3 runs to the Florida Marlins. The Marlins won 9 to 3.

Yoshii joins the Expos
Expos' general manager revealed that Yoshii was out practicing with his team Apr 7. And on Apr 13, it was confirmed that Yoshii was accepted. It's believed he will contribute as a relief pitcher.

Yoshii out of Rockies
It was learned that Yoshii was no longer needed by his team and on Mar 28, was placed on the waiver listing. And on Mar 30, he became a free agent. Yoshii is to receive 375,000 dollars from the team.
