Final day
It was a full packed crowd 15 days in a row. Terunofuji drove out Goeido to keep his hope for the Emperor's Cup. In the final bout Hakuho faced Harumafuji. Both struggled. The bout was long. In the end Hakuho drove out fellow yokozuna. With this victory Hakuho clinched his 34th Emperor's Cup,

14th day
Shohozan powerfully thrust Arawashi to win his first bout at last. Tochinoshin toppled Takarafuji with an underarm throw. Both at 7-7. Terunofuji and Ichinojo fought a long bout. At 3 min 30 seconds, the bout was temporarily stopped for a rest. When it was resumed Ichinojo lost hold of Terunofuji's belt and Terunofuji shoved the young Mongolian out. Terunofuji kept his chance for the Emperor's Cup alive. Goeido pushed down Toyonoshima for his 8th win. Hakuho shifted to the side to force Kisenosato to fall. Kotoshogiku got hold of Harumafuji and shoved the yokozuna out to secure a majority win. Hakuho leads, followed closely by Terunofuji.

13th day
Goeido managed to drive out Tochinoshin. Toyonoshima went into Kotoshogiku and drove the ozeki out. Toyonoshima secured a majority win. Harumafuji attacked Kisenosato's throat and forced the ozeki out. Harumafuji won his 10th bout. Terunofuji got hold of Hakuho's belt and was in control of the bout. In the end Terunofuji forced out the yokozuna, and prevented the tourney from losing its attractiveness.

12th day
Ichinojo shoved fast Tokushoryu to secure a majority win. Terunofuji forced down Toyonoshima for his 10th win. Tochinoshin forced down Kisenosato. The ozeki succumbed to his 4th loss. Hakuho gave Kotoshogiku thrusts then drove him out. Harumafuji and Goeido fought a fast moving powerful bout. In the end, the yokozuna forced an underarm throw to win.

11th day
Ichinojo forced Takarafuji down. Kaisei drove out Terunofuji. It's Terunofuji's 2nd loss. Kisenosato had a tough time against Toyonoshima but managed to force him down. Kotoshogiku immediately got hold of Tochinoshin's belt and drove the Georgian out. Harumafuji managed to drive out Myogiryu for his 8th win. Hakuho forced Goeido down with a throw to continue with his winning streak.

10th day
Ichinojo withstood Tamawashi's thrusts then pushed his opponent out for his 6th win. Kotoshogiku tried to shove and shove, but could not and pulled back which Terunofuji took advantage to win with a push out. It's his 9th win. Kisenosato drove out Goeido. Hakuho gave powerful thrusts then pushed out Takekaze. Kaisei was in a good position to disable Harumafuji to take any action. But in the end Harumafuji drove down the Brazilian for his 7th win.

9th day
Aminishiki drove down Jokoryu to earn a majority win. Ichinojo and Kaise fought a long bout which lasted 1 min 44 sec. In the end Ichinojo drove out the Brazilian. Terunofuji powerfully forced Myogiryu out for a majority win. Kisenosato gave thrusts then pushed out Takekaze. Kotoshogiku forced himself against Goeido, but Goeido shifted to the side to forced down fellow ozeki. Harumafuji gave Toyonoshima and appeared to be in control, but his arm slipped and Toyonoshima shoved the yokozuna from his rear. its Harumafuji's 3rd loss. Hakuho forced a throw against Aoiyama and won.

8th day
Tochiozan manages to drive out Ichinojo. Kisenosato aggressively fought against Terunofuji and won. It's Terunofuji's first loss. Goeido pulls back and succumbs to Aoiyama's push out. Kotoshogiku charges forward and drives out Takekaze. Hakuho beats Toyonoshima with a push out. Harumafuji falls to Tochinoshin's thrust down. It's the yokozuna's 2nd loss. Hakuho is the only one with a perfect record.

7th day
Aminishiki shifted his position on the verge of the ring and drove Shohozan down to extend his perfect record. Terunofuji did too by driving out Tochiozan. Goeido tried to attack Ichinojo in different ways and in the end succeeded by driving the monster out. Kotoshogiku charged into Takayasu and won with a push out. Kisenosato got hold of Aoiyama's belt and drove him out. Harumafuji lost balance but was able to force Takekaze to touch the dirt first. Hakuho threw Tamawashi powerfully to win again.

6th day
Terunofuji was a good defender. In the end he drove out Tochiozan. Kotoshogiku tried to shove and shove against Ichinojo. But Ichinojo did not budge. Instead the Mongolian easily drove out the ozeki. Kisenosato forced Wamawashi out for his 3rd win. Goeido slapped Takekaze. Takekaze stepped to the side which put Goeido off. The ozeki fell. Hakuho and Takayasu gave eachother thrusts in slow motion. In the end the yokozuna drove down Takayasu. Harumafuji got hold of Aoiyama and forced the Bulgarian out.

5th day
Shohozan fell on Endo's leg in a bout Endo won. He could not walk for awhile. After he left the ring, he had to take the wheelchair. He was later diagnosed with a 2 month injury. Ichinojo shoved Kisenosato and won. The ozeki lost his 3rd bout. Other ozeki lost too. Goeido was driven out by Tamawashi. Kotoshogiku lost to Tochiozan. Harumafuji pushed out Takayasu. Hakuho forced a throw on Takarafuji and won.

4th day
Ohsuna-arashi drove out Kitataiki. It's the Egyptian's 2nd win. Veteran rikishi Aminishiko defeated Kyokutenku for his 4th win. Endo gave thrusts then pushed out Aoiyama for his 3rd win. Goeido banged into Tochiozan, took his belt and drove him out. Kotoshogiku shoved and shoved and beat Myogiryu. Kisenosato was able to drive out Takarafuji for his 2nd win. Hakuho celebrated his 30th birthday by driving out Ichinojo. Harumafuji forced Sadanoumi to flip and fall.

3rd day
Endo pushed out Tokushoryu. Kotoshogiku drove Takarafuji out while falling. Kisenosato forced Sadanoumi out to earn his first win. Goeido shoved Okinoumi's head as he pulled back and managed to drive Okinoumi down. Harumafuji tried tricks on Ichinojo, but in vain. The yokozuna went out the ring. Hakuho banged into Tochiozan who immediately fell. Its Hakuho's career 804th win to tie with Kitanoumi.

2nd day
Endo pushed Takekaze with both his hands and won his first bout. Tochinoshin got a hold of Ichinojo's belt with both hands and drove the up and coming Mongolian out. Terunofuji pushed out Aoiyama, who's foot left the ring helplessly. Kisenosato pulled away from Myogiryu succumbing to his 2nd loss. Goeido forced Takayasu on the ring. Kotoshogiku shoved and shoved against Tamawashi to win. Hakuho threw Sadanoumi. Harumafuji pushed out Tochiozan.

1st day
The referee first ruled that Kyokutenho forced down Takarafuji. But the judges confirmed, the vetern Mongolian's hand hit the dirt before Ohsuna-arashi fell, so a misjudgement of the referee and the bout given to the Egyptian. Terunofuji and Takayasu performed an exciting bout which in the end Terunofuji won by driving down Takayasu. Goeido forced out Takarafuji. Kotoshogiku drove out Sadanoumi. Tochiozan forced Kisenosato out to win. Ichinojo did not have to fight Kakuryu who he was expecting too and automatically earned a win. Harumafuji forced out Tamawashi who fell into the audience belly up. Hakuho lost balance but managed to push down Myogiryu before he himself fell.

Pre Tourney highlight
Kakuryu pulls out
On the first day of the tourney, Kakuryu submitted his request for withdrawal from the tourney. He is reported to have a bad left shoulder which needs a month to recover. It's his 2nd time to withdraw since 2008. New sekiwakes
Okinoumi is the first sekiwake from Shimane Prefecture in more than 120 years. Terunofuji wants to compete in ranks against Ichinojo.
