The night before interleague kicked off, baseball fans were shocked at the news of the arrest of Giants manager Shinnosuke Abe. According to local media, he knocked down his 18 year old daughter since she didn't stop quarreling with her sister. The 18 year old asked AI what she should do. AI told her to contact the children's counselling center. She did. The center contacted the police.
Before the game, Abe announced he resigned and the Giants said they will have nothing to do with him.
The Giants lost the game against the Hawks, won the next on RBI by Yoshihiro Maru and lost the 3rd to Yudai Shoji's RBI.
The Lions won 2 of 3 games against the Swallows, tied in one.
