Fighters trade star player
A surprise announcement was made on Jan 23. The Fighters said its trading its key player Yoshio Itoi with 2 other players for 4 players from the Buffaloes which includes pitcher Hiroshi Kisanuki. Its a shock for Fighters fan.

Abe wins highest salary
The Giants Shinnosuke Abe who's this season's Central League MVP told a news conference on Dec 19 that he has signed the next season for a total 570 million yen. He said he wondered how much of the table he was sitting behind would fill if he stacked up that sum.

Nishioka returns to Japan
Tsuyoshi Nishioka who played for the Minnesota Twins for a year became a free agent. He signed with the Hashin Tigers and announced it in a news conference on Nov 19. Its for 2 years for an estimated 400 million yen plus depending on his performance.
