Post Season
World Series
In game 5 on Oct 30 in the first inning Aaron Judge smashed a 2 run home run. But in the 5th inning, his error on the field reversed the mood. It's a nightmare for the Yankees, a boon for the Dodgers. The Dodgers with efficient sacrifice flies won 7 to 6 and captured the World Series. It's become World Champions for the 8th time. Shohei is reported by insiders saying, he wants to become World Champion another 9 times.

The Dodgers lost on Oct 28 2 to 4 against the Yankees with Shohei not able to hit. Then again lost the next day with Dodgers losing 4 to 11 on a grandslam by Anthony Volpi. Meanwhile Freddie Freeman blasted another home run, 4 games in a row. Shohei had a base hit, but was out on 2nd.

Starting on Oct 26, Yoshinobu Yamamoto. He hurled 6 1/3 inning givin up a home run to Juan Soto only. Shohei in the 7th inning stole to 2nd, but was killed and injured his shoulder. The Dodgers won again 4 to 2. After that game, Shohei continued to bat with his shoulder protected.

On Oct 25, the first game had a dramatic ending. But before that Shohei doubled and went to third. He came home on Mookie Betts scrifice fly to equalize. In the 10th inning with bases loaded Freddie Freeman homered to finish the game 6 to 3 with a grand slam.

Champions Series
The Dodgers were back home to play on Oct 21. Tommy Edman slammed a 2 run home run and hit in another 2 RBIs. Will Smith also had a 2 run homer. Shohei hit in a run. The Dodgers won 10 to 4 to clinch the Champion Series.

In New York on Oct 18, Shohei singled twice but could not bring home anyone. The Mets beat the Dodgers 12 to 6.

On Oct 17 Shohei slammed a lead off home run. Then in he was walked. He came home. He was walked in all 3 times during the game. In the end, the Dodgers won 10 to 2. Yoshinobu Yamamoto started and pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up 2 run and striking out 8.

The Dodgers lost on Oct 14. But in New York on Oct 16, among booing crowds, Shohei slammed a 3 run home run. The Dodgers had a shut out victory of a 8 to 0.

The Dodgers faced at home the New York Mets on Oct 13. Starting for the Mets, Kodai Senga is still on the way to adapting to playing after recovering from his injury. He was not in control and gave up 3 runs. Shohei hit in runs in the 2nd and 4th innings. The Dodgers shut out the Mets 9 to 0

Division Series
In the final game of the Division Series on Oct 11, Yoshinobu Yamamoto started for the Dodgers, and Yu Darvish for the San Diego Padres. started. Darvish did not let Shohei get on base. In the 2nd inning, he gave up a homer to Kike Hernandez. Then in the 6th, to Teoscar Hernandez. Yamamoto pitched a shut out 5 innings. The Dodgers won 2 to 0 to win the series. Shohei experienced his 2nd champagn fight this season and in his MLB career.

Yu Darvish started in the 2nd game on Oct 6. He held the Dodgers to just 1 RBI and did not let Shohei get on base. The Dodgers lost 2 to 10.

In the first post season game, the Dodgers faced San Diego Padres at home on Oct 5. Starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave up 5 runs in 3 innings. But Shohei got the team's spirit up with a 3 run home run. He also had a base hit and came home. The Dodgers won 7 to 5.

Sept 29
In the last game of the season, Shohei hit himself on base, and also stole, in an double steal attempt. The Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 2 to 1.

Sept 28
Shohei continued to get himself on base. He did it twice and stole base. The Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 13 to 2.

Sept 27
Shohei broke the Japanese record for stolen bases held by Ichiro Suzuki with his 57th. He had an enormous day with a single, 3 run home run and a double. The Dodgers won 11 to 4 against the Colorado Rockies to secure the division win.

Sept 26
The Padres was leading until the 7th inning, Shohei hit in a run. His teammates followed. He hit a double against Yuki Matsui. With a 7 to 2 win against the San Diego Padres, the Dodgers secured its division title. And for the first time Shohei popped the champagne bottle to celebrate in MLB.

Sept 24
Shohei is walked, steals base, and hits in runs. The Dodgers won 4 to 3 against the San Diego Padres.

Sept 20
Shohei continued to extend his feat at Dodgers Stadium. He slammed a 2-run home run. After a base hit, he stole base for a 52-52. His team won 6 to 4 against the Colorado Rockies.

Sept 19
It was a historic day for MLB. Shohei homered 3 times, a single, 2 run, and a triple. He also stole base twice. He easily exceeded 50-50, making it to 51-51. The Dodgers overwhelmed the Florida Marlins 20 to 4.

Sept 11
In the first inning Shohei homered his 47th of the season. He got on base and stole to 2nd. He batted a 2 RBI 2 base hit. His team beat the Chicago Cubs 10 to 8.

Sept 5
Shohei singled his 45th home run of the season. He also had a based hit in the 8th. But the Dodgers lost to the Cleveland Guardians 1 to 3.

Sept 3
For the first time this season, Shohei played at his former home ground, Angels Stadium. He was given a warm welcome. He tripled, which earned him a run. In the 10th he was walked which fans of both teams booed. But Freddie Freeman homered giving the Dodgers 6 to 2 win.

Sept 1
A lead off home run by Shohei, followed by Mookie Betts, then Freddie Freeman. But it turned out to be a competitive game. In the end the Dodgers beatthe Arizona Diamondbacks 8 to 6.

Aug 25
It's a lead off home run. Then Shohei singled, proceeded to 2nd, stole to 3rd. He stole base twice in the game The Dodgers won 6 to 4 against the Baltimore Orioles.

Aug 24
Shohei slammed a 2 run homem run, but the Daodgers lost to the Tampa Bay Rays 8 to 9.

Aug 23
A 40-40 feat was achieved. In the 6th inning, he had an infield hit, recorded his 40th steal of the season. In the 9th season with the game a tie, Shohei grandslammed to win 7 to 3 over Tampa Bay Rays. It's his 40th home run of the season.

Aug 5
Shohei doubled, and he stole to 3rd. He homered in the 8th inning. His team won 5 to 3 against the Philadephia Phillies.

Aug 2
Shohei slammed a 3 run home run, his 33rd home run of the season. But his team lost to the Oakland Athletics 6 to 5.

July 25
Shohei blasts his 31st homer of the season, which was also his career total 250th homerun. He said he did not know it was his 250th. The Dodgers won 6 to 3 against the San Francisco Giants.

July 23
Shohei hit in 2 runs twice and contributed to his team's 5 to 2 win against the San Francisco Giants.

July 19
Shohei blasted a 144. 2 meter long homer, his 30th of the season. His team beat the Boston Red Sox 9 to 6.

All Star Game
Shohei was chosen again and in the 3rd inning on Jul 16, he slamed a 3 run home run. It's his first home run in an all star game. But that's all for the National League which lost 3 to 5 to the American League.

July 6
Shohei tripled, stole base, and blasted a 2 run home run. On the back of this amazing performance the Dodgers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5 to 3.

July 2
In a competive game, Shohei doubled, singled, and blasted a 2 run home run. His team beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6 to 5.

June 29
Shohei took further lead in the home run race hitting number 25. His team beat the SF Giants 14 to 7 in the 11th inning.

June 25
Shohei homered in the first inning. He batted in a run on a single hit. The Dodgers beat the Chicago White Sox 4 to 3.

June 21
The feat of Mr June continued. Shohei slammed a 2 run home run to help his team beat his former team L.A. Angels 7 to 2.

June 20
Shohei homered a league leading number 21. The Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 5 to 3.

June 14
Shohei blasted. Hew homered twice against the Kansas City Royals and his team won 3 to 0.

June 11
Shohei was in good shape, stealing base and slamming a 2 run home run, his 17th of the season. The Dodgers beat the Texas Rangers 15 to 2.

June 4
All eyes were on the first time match between San Diego Padres rookie Paul Skenes vs. Shohei. He hit off a 2 run home run. But the Dodgers in the end lost 6 to 10.

May 28
Shohei batted in a run, and also slammed a 2 run home run. His team won 10 to 3 against the New York Mets.

May 19
In the 10th inning, Shohei hit in a run to end the game. The Dodgers won 3 to 2 against the Cincinnatti Reds.

On the day May 17 was named Ohtani Day by Los Angeles, he homered a 2 run and helped his team win 7 to 3 against the Cincinnatti Reds. May is Asian month and why the 17th? Because it's the number Shohei wears.

May 14
Shohei blasted his 12th home run of the season. He also had a base hit, and a RBI with a double. The Dodger defeated the SF Giants 10 to 2.

May 6
A 2 run home run by Shohei contributed to his team's win over the Florida Marlins. It's 5 to 3.

May 5
Shohei's incredible journey continued. It started with a 2 run home run. He got himself on base with a single twice. And he belted another home run, his 10th of the season. His batting average reached .364 of the best of the league. The Dodgers won 5 to 1 against the Atlanta Braves.

May 4
Shohei slammed his 8th home run of the season. He also had 2 base hits. The Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 11 to 2.

May 3
Shohei took a break from the previous game. After a few days a rest, he was back with energy. He stole base twice. In the 10th inning his team equalized with the Atlanta Braves with his RBI. And in the end the Dodgers won 4 to 3.

Shohei had 2 base hits to help his team beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8 to 4.

Toronto fans booed when Shohei was up to bat. There were reports before the season he might join the BlueJays. But it did not happen. During the boos Shohei homered. The Dodgers won 12 to 2 against the Toronto BlueJays.

Shohei was hitting enormously well. He had doubled 3 times. His team defeated Washington Nationals 11 to 2.

Apr 23
An incredible home run by Shohei. It was a high speed one he blasted in the 9th inning flying 137 meter. The Dodgers won 4 to 1 against the Washington Nationals.

Apr 21
He finally broke Hideki Matsui's record with a home run in the 3rd inning. He had a base hit too. The Dodgers beat the New York Mets 10 to 0.

Apr 17
Shohei was batting well. He had a base hit in the first inning, in the 6th and the 8th. He also stole based. But he has yet to break Matsui's Japanese MLB home run record. His team lost the game 0 to 2 to the Washington Nationals.

Apr 12
In the first inning, Shohei homered. With this he tied with former Yankees Hideki Matsu's 175 home run Japanese record in MLB. He also doubled twice. But the Dodgers lost to San Diego Padres in an extra inning game 7 to 8. He was cleared of any involvement of the gambling scandal of his former interpreter Ippei Mizuhara.

In the first inning, Shohei hit a double. Then in the 7th, he homered. The Dodgers beat the Minnesota Twins 4 to 2.

Shohei slammed another home run, 2 days in a row. He also had a 2 base hit. The Dodgers, however, lost to the Chicago Cubs 7 to 9.

Shohei had a base hit. He blasted his first home run of the season. The Dodgers beat SF Giants 5 to 4.

Mar 28
It's the first game Shohei official played at his new home ground Dodgers Stadium. Fans gave him a standing novation when he appeared. In the first inning, he had a base hit. He made the mistake of overrunning 2nd base, when Mookie Betts in front of him stopped at 3rd. But he came home. Shohei walked in the 3rd inning. In the 5th he singled. Freddie Freeman and Betts homered. Shohei did not but he felt good, in his comment after the game.

Seoul series
In the first game on Mar 20, Shohei faced Yu Darvish who started for the San Diego Padres. Shohei batted 2nd in the line up as DH. In the 3rd inning Shohei had a base hit off Darvish. In the 8th inning,Darvish was no longer on the mound. Shohei hit in a run. The Dodgers won 5 to 2. In the 2nd game which Japan's best pitcher today Yoshinobu Yamamoto started, Padres constantly was ahead. Meanwhile Shohei popped up a sacrifice for an RBI. The Dodgers lost 11 to 15. It was at the time a scandal surfaced. Shohei's long time interpreter Ippei Mizuhara was let go by the Dodgers. It was learned he was gambling and used Shohei's money.

Shohei arrives in South Korea
Around 300 fans and the media welcomed Shohei and his wife on Mar 15. They landed with teammates and their family. It's for the opener against the San Diego Padres.

Shohei announces he is married
Shohei told reporters during spring camp, he married in December. He did not reveal who the woman was, but later it was learned she was former basketball player, Mamiko Tanaka. She's 2 years younger than him. He told reporters he felt good with her and could envision living a life together. He had said in the past he wanted to marry someone tall.

The largest contract in baseball
In Dec, Shohei's separation from the Angels was confirmed, signing a deal with the Dodger. It's worth USD700 million of which he would defer 97 percent until after his 10 year term ends.

MVP of the American League
It was announced on Nov 17, Shohei won the title with an unanimous vote. It's the 2nd time he wins MVP and wins unanimously. Making if the first such player. The dog he held during his winning interview seems to have stolen the spotlight.

Home run king
Shohei became the first Japanese to win the home run title in the MLB. He kept the lead with 44. On October 1, his rivals all finished the season. He appeared in Anaheim the day before to be awarded the team's MVP, with his right arm bandaged. He had a surgery and is hoping to recover to be able to bat the next season.

Sept 16
Shohei was in the bench cheering on his teammates after disappearing from public eyes. It was announced by his team that he will not play the rest of the season. He is shutting down. He finished the season with 10 wins, 44 home runs.

Sept 5
Shohei is unable to pitch anymore this season. He was committed to continue to bat. But during practice he hurt his side. From this day onwards he could not bat either.

August 26
Shohei had a doubled, and stole base. He tripled to hit in a run. The Angels beat the NY Mets 5 to 3.

August 23
Shohei slammed a 2 run, his 44th home run this season. He started. He had to stop in the 2nd inning. It was announced, he tored his UCL.He cannot pitch anymore this season. The Angels lost 4 to 9 to the Cincinnatti Reds. Otani appeared as a batter in the 2nd of the double headers. He batted a 2 base hit. The Angels lost agains 3 to 7.

August 9
Shohei started, giving up a run in 6 innings. He earned his 10th win in a game the Angels won 4 to 1 against the San Francisco Giants.

July 28
In the first inning, Shohei slammed a home run. It's his 39th. His team was losing in the 9th inning, but with his team filling the bases, fans thought the chance for a win was high with Shohei's turn to bat. But he was not there. He could not play due to cramps. The Angels lost 1 to 4 against the Toronto BlueJays.

July 27
The Angels had to play a double header. Shohei started in the first. He hurled over a distance a shut out game with 111 pitches. It's his 8th win. The Angels won 6 to 0 against the Detroit Tigers. Then 45 minutes later, he was playing as DH. He struck out at first at bat. In the 2nd inning, he blasted a 2 run homerun. In the 4th inning, he homered again, and the Angels won 11 to 4 against the Tigers.

July 21
Shohei gave up 4 homeruns as the starting pitcher. In all he gave up 5 runs in 6 1/3 innings. As the team hit well, he earned his 8th win in a 8 to 5 victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

July 17
In the game against the New York Yankees, Shohei hit well. He singled, then doubled. In the 7th inning he blasted a 2 run home run to equalize. In the 10th inning, his team hit in a run to win.

July 15
Shohei was not swinging against the ball well, until the 9th inning, he blasted his 33rd home run of the season. He was walked in the 10th inning, in a game which the Astros errored to give the Angels a win of 13 to 12.

July 14
Shohei started for the first time after the All Star game. He was in a way unlucky, giving up runs on the back of his teammate's error. He pitched 5 0/3 inning, giving up 4 run and faced his 5th loss in a 7 to 5 game against the Houston Astros.

Shohei hit a triple and singled twice. But his team lost to the Chicago White Sox 5 to 11.

It was an amazing day for Shohei. He hurled 6 1/3 inning striking out 10, giving up just a run. He blasted 2 home runs. The Angels won 4 to 2 against the Chicago White Sox. Shohei won his 6th game of the season.

Other than giving up a home run to Freddie Freeman of the LA Dodgers, Shohei pitched well. He struck out 12 in 7 innings. But his team did not back him up with the bat. The Angels lost 0 to 2.

June 15
Shohei started and gave up 2 runs and left the mound after the 6th inning. The Angels then took the lead. In the 8th inning, he himself homered a 2 run. The Angels beat the Texas Rangers 5 to 3.

June 10
He started and immediately gave up a 2 run home run. Then he slammed a 2 run home run to equalize. He stepped down from the mound, but in the end his team beat the New York Mets 5 to 4.

Shohei hit at the fence or was it a homerun. It was both. He stopped at 3rd base, but the refrees decided it was a home run. So he came home. The Angels beat the Chicago Cubs 7 to 4.

An almost single for Shohei. He singled, double, tripled. Then all were anticipating for a home run. He singled again. The Angels won lost 6 to 9 against the Houston Astros.

Shohei blasted with 2 homers twice. His team beat the Chicago White Sox 12 to 5.

May 22
Shohei started. He gave up a run in 6 innings, striking out 9. He diversified his pitches. But it was after he was off the mound the Angels took the lead to beat the Minnesota Twins 4 to 2, so he did not earn a win.

Shohei gave up 3 home runs, but he made up for it with his bat. He blasted a 3 run home run. He got himself on base throughout the game. He had a triple, he singled, and he walked. The Angels beat the Baltimore Orioles 9 to 5.

Shohei started. It was either a strike out or getting clobbered. He pitched 5 innings, struck out his record tie of 13. But in the 4th inning, he gave up 2 home runs. In the end, his team won 6 to 4 against the St. Louis Cardinals. Also Japanese fans were watching closely how Shohei would pitch against Lars Nootbar. The two were teammates in the WBC. Shohei struck out Lars.

Shohei blasted his 7th home run of the season which took over 6 seconds to fall or the longest time for any hitter this season. He helped his team win 3 to 0 over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Shohei started. He lost 2 homers. But he made up for it with an almost cycle hit. He just lacked a home run. The Angels beat the Oakland Athletic 7 to 8. Shohei won his 4th game.

Shohei was amazing. He hurled 7 innings without giving up a run, striking out 11 including 6 batters in a row. He earned his 3rd win in a 2 to 0 game against the Kansas City Royals.

Shohei faced high school baseball pal Shintaro Fujinami Oakland Athletics. He grounded the ball in the first inning, not making it to first base. In the 3rd inning he hit in a run. After Fujihami left the pitcher's mound, Shohei hit in another run. The Angels won 13 to 1.

Mar 30
WBC MVP was the opening pitcher. Although he did get runners on base, during 6 scoreless innings he struck out 10.But pitchers after him gave up runs. The Angels lost 1 to 2 to the Oakland Athletics.

Sept 29
Shohei was fabulous. Until the 8th inning with 2 outs, he was on the way to a no hitter game. He struck out 10. He hit in a run. The Angels won 4 to 2 against the Oakland Athletics. Shohei won his 15th game.

Sept 23
He started and gave up a run in the first inning. He marked his 200th strike out of the season in the 4th inning. He pitched 5 0/3 innings giving up 2 run and striking out 7. He supported himself by hitting in a run. His team won 4 to 2 against the Minnesota Twins. Shohei earned his 14th win, exceeding the best record of pitcher Babe Ruth.

Sept 17
Shohei started. He pitched 7 innings,struck out 8. He did not give up a run. The Angels won 2 to 1 against the Seattle Mariners. Shohei won his 13th game.

Sept 4
Shohei had a 2 run home run. He had a single home run too. His team shut out the Detroit Tigers 10 to 0.

Aug 31
Shohei slammed a 3 run home run off Gerrit Cole to beat the Yankees 3 to 1.

Aug 29
Shohei homered and had a base hit, contributing to his team's 4 to 3 win against the New York Yankees.

All Star Game
Shohei was in the batting line up for the American League on Jul 20. He singled at Clayton Kershaw's first pitch. He tried to steal base but was killed. He was walked. American League defeated the National League 3 to 2.

As a starting pitcher, Shohei lasted 7 innings, struck out 10. With the bat, he hit in 2 runs. The Angels beat the Florida Marlins 5 to 2 and Shohei won his 8th game.

Another feat as the started pitcher. Shohei pitched a shut out 5 2/3 innings. He struck out 11. His team won 4 to 1 against the Chicago White Sox. He picked up his 7th win.

Shohei started. He suddenly gave up consecutive base hits. But he did not lose a run. In fact his pitching was amazing after the first inning. He struck out 13 in 8 innings, which is a record stike out. His team beat the Kansas City Royals 5 to 0.

Shohei was amazing at bat. He slammed a 3 run home run and another equalizing 3 run home run in the 9th inning. In all he hit in 8 runs. But that was not enough for his team to beat the Kansas City Royals losing the game 11 to 12.

It's been a tumultous period for the Angels, with a record consecutive losses and Joe Maddon fired. Shohei started and ended the consecutive loss at 14. He gave up 1 run in 7 innings, slammed a 2 run home run and had a base hit. The Angels beat the Boston Red Sox 5 to 2.

May 29
Finally, Shohei is hitting better.He singled and blasted a 2 run home run. But the Angels lost 10 to 11 to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Shohei was amazing in the game against the Tampa Bay Rays. He had a base hit, then singled a homer, then grand slammed. It's his first ever grand slam. The Angels won 11 to 3.

Shohei started in Fenway Park. It's the first time since Babe Ruth, a player appears as a pitcher and a hitter. He hurled a shut out 7 inning. He struck out 11 to earn his 3rd win. With the bat, he hit home 2 runners. His team beat the Boston Red Sox 8 to 0.

Apr 28
Shohei was homered by Cleveland Guardians' Jose Ramirez in the first inning. He then recovered pitching 5 innings. At bat, he singled in the 4th, had a RBI in the 6th. He singled in the 8th. His team won 9 to 5 against the Guardians. It's his 2nd win.

Shohei was not hitting for a few games. In this game he changed his dressing style by showing off his long socks. He singled twice, and came home too. The Angels won 7 to 5 against the Baltimore Orioles.

Shohei homered the very first pitch.It's his first home run of the season. Then in the 5th inning he slammed a 2 run home run. The Angels beat the Texas Rangers 9 to 6.

Shohei starts, and in the 2nd inning Jonah Heim blasted a grand slam off him. He lasted only 3 2/3 innings, and gave up a total 6 runs. It's a 10 to 5 loss against the Texas Rangers.

Shohei doubled in the 3rd inning. But the Angles lost 1 to 4 against the Astros.

Shohei focused on his batting as designated hitter. He singled in the first inning. He camge back home. He did not get himself on base after that. The Astros won 13 to 6.

For the first time Shohei had the honor of opening the season, as the starting pitcher and the first to bat for his team. He pitched well. He gave up a run in the 3rd inning, struck out 9. He was taken off the mound in the 5th inning, as he pitched too much. His team lost 3 to 1 to the Houston Astros. He tood the loss.

Oct 3
It's the Angels final game of the season as it did not proceed to the playoffs. Shohei who had not homered for a long time wrapped up the season with his lead off home run. It's his 46th of the season. He also recorded his 100th RBI. The Angels won 7 to 3 against the Seattle Mariners. He finished the season with 9 wins as a pitcher.

Sept 21
Shohei has not been able to homer for a while. At last this day, he slammed his 45th home run of the year. The Angles however lost 5 to 10 to the Houston Astros. He is one home run behind the leaders.

Sept 10
Shohei slammed a powerful homer in the first inning. It's his 44th of the season. He also pitched, but he lacked power in his speed balls. He gave up 6 runs in 3 1/3 innings. The Angels lost 5 to 10 against the Houston Astros.

Aug 18
It was all about Shohei. He started, pitched 8 innings giving up 1 run. In the 8th inning, he slammed a home run, his 40th of the season. He won his 8th game in a 3 to 1 win against the Detroit Tigers.

Aug 12
He started, gave up 2 runs in 6 innings. He himself had a 2 base hit. The Angels won 6 to 3 against the Toronto Blue Jays. Shohei clinched his 7th win.

Aug 11
With the Olympic Games over, sports fans attention is again locked on Shohei who's been competing against Vladimir Guerrero Jr.in home runs and RBIs. In this game Shohei hit his 38th home run, a 2 run, to further his lead. But the Angels lost 2 to 11 against the Toronto Blue Jays.

All Star Game
Shohei was DH and starting pitcher. He batted twice but could not get himself on base. His 1 inning pitch was smooth. As the American League won 5 to 2, he was giving the win.

All Star home run derby
Shohei became the first Japanese to take part in the home run derby. In Denver, Colorado on 12 July, he took time to be able to hit a home run in the 3 minutes he was given. But he caught up with his opponent, Juan Soto. They played another minute. They tied again. And it was about hitting just 3 pitches. Soto homered all 3. Shohei grounded the pitch in the first try and he was out of the round.

July 8
Shohei blasted his 33rd home run of the season in the 3rd inning. But the Angels lost to the Seattle Mariners 3 to 7.

July 7
Another feat by Shohei. He slammed a home run in the 5th inning to give his team a lead. It's his 32nd homer of the year, exceeding the annual record in MLB by a Japanese which was held by Hideki Matsui. The Angels beat the Boston Red Sox 5 to 4.

July 6
Shohei started. He pitched 7 innings giving up 2 runs. The Angels beat the Boston Red Sox 5 to 3. He won his 4th game.

July 2
Shohei was incredible with the bat. He homered twice. On top of that in the 9th inning he stole to 2nd, then he ran into home base, and with that run, his team beat the Baltimore Orioled 8 to 7.

It was rough start for Shohei. He was not controlling his pitches well. He gave up 7 runs in one inning, the worst for him. He tried to make up with his bat but could not. However, his teammates hit well and his team beat the Yankees 11 to 8.

In New York, Shohei homered a single, then he slammed a 2 run home run. But his team lost to the Yankees 5 to 11.

June 27
Incredible Shohei hits in a RBI double, then equalized with a triple. He also hits a home run, helping his team beat the Rays 6 to 4.

Shohei starts, strikes out 9, giving up only a run in 6 innings. But pitchers after him failed. The Angels lost 3 to 9 against the San Francisco Giants.

On Father's Days, players were conciously wearing blue. Shohei used a blue bat, but he could not hit. He changed to his regular bat and homered to equalize. In the end his team lost to the Detroit Tigers 3 to 5.

Shohei slammed a 2 run home run and a single homer. His team beat the Detroit Tigers 11 to 3.

Shohei starts in a packed stadium. The first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The hurled 6 innings, giving up 1 run, and won his 3rd game in a 7 to 5 win against the Detroit Tigers.

Shohei was a pinch hitter, slammed a home run, his 19th of the season. He got himself on base on his bunt, then stole to 2nd. But his team lost 4 to 8 to the Oakland Athletics.

Shohei slammed his 16th home run of the season from Yusei Kikuchi, his high school colleague. The Angels won 12 to 5 against the Seattle Mariners

June 4
Shohei in the first inning that he pitched, he gave up a run to lead off hitter JP Crawford of the Seattle Mariners. But he recovered, and pitched 10 stike outs in 6 innings. His team won.

May 25
Shohei was not in the starting line up. He came on a pinch hitter, and in the 4th inning slammed a super liner 3 run homerun. His team beat the Texas Rangers 11 to 5.

Shohei started. His pitches were slower than usual and he was not in control. He gave up 2 runs in 4 2/3 innings, and after he pitched, he played outfield, had a bunt base hit. But his team in the end lost 3 to 2 against the Cleveland Indians.

Shohei homered again. He also had a base hit. He was walked. His team lost 5 to 6 to the Cleveland Indians.

Shohei started, and pitched well, giving up only a solo shot to Kyle Tucker in the 5th inning. He pitched 7 innings, striking out 10. Then he played in right field. His show time was shattered by following pitchers. The Angels lost to the Houston Astros 1 to 9.

There were concerns Shohei may not be able to play after being hit by a pitch in the previous game. But he went out there, slammed a 2 run home run. However his team lost to the Tampa Bay Rays 3 to 9.

After showing good performance in exhibition matches, Shohei was back this season as a pitcher and batter. In the 9th inning he blasted a 2 run home run. But his team lost 8 to 12 to the Chicago White Sox.

Shohei started, lasted a longer than the first game he pitched. Still in the 2nd inning, he walked and walked, and lasted 1 2/3 inning.He complained of a pain in his arm. Houston Astros won 6 to 5 against the Angels.

Shohei showed off more variety of contributions, he stole base, and again a home run. But the Angels lost again to the Seattle Mariners 5 to 8.

Shohei started as a pitcher. It was the worse game he pitched. He give up a base hit, he walled 3, lost a run, then he lost more runs. In all he gave up 5 without taking an out. The Angels lost 4 to 6 to the Oakland Athletics.

The baseball season at last started, delayed due to COVID-19. Shohei had plenty of time to recover from his surgery. He returned first, as a hitter, in the starting line up. He had a base hit. He could not contribute when bases were loaded in the 9th inning. His team lost to the Oakland Athletics 3 to 7.

Sept 11
Shohei homered against the Cleveland Indians but his team lost. After this game it was learned he has a fracture left knee and needs an operation. He will not be able to play this season.

Sept 7
Shohei was 4th in the line up as DH. He was fabulous slamming a 3 run home run, and stealing base. In all he hit in 5 runs to helpd his team win 8 to 7 over the Chicago White Sox.

In the 2nd inning, Shohei blasted a 3 run home run and helped his team beat the Toronto Blue Jays 10 to 5.

Jun 13
Shohei was amazing. In the first inning he blasted a 3 run home run. In the 3rd, he doubled. In the 4th inning, there was a black out. The game resumed and he tripled. Then in the 7thi inning he singled, achieving a cycle. The Angels beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5 to 3.

Shohei blasted a 2 run home run in the 6th inning. This helped the Angels beat the Kansas City Royals 6 to 3.

Shohei slammed his first home run of the season. He also had a base hit. His team beat the Twins 5 to 4.

Shohei batted is first base hit since his comeback. It's in the first inning. He hit back a runner home. His team beat the Detroit Tigers 13 to 0.

Shohei was back swinging the bat for the first time in an official game this year. He's back after a surgery of his arm. He appeared as a designated hitter. He was at bat 4 times, walked once, did not hit a run.

Shohei is focusing on his role at bat, as more arm injury comes to light, disabling him to pitch. As DH, he appeared in the first inning and slammed his 20th homerun of the season. But his team lost 5 to 6 to the Seattle Mariners.

Aug 27
Shohei blasted a 3 run home run, his 15th on the season. He also hit a single. His team defeated the Colorado Rockies 10 to 7.

Aug 7
Shohei slammed a 3 run home run in the first inning, and also had a base hit, helping the Angels beat the Detroit Tigers 11 to 5.

Shohei contributed with a 2 run home run and heled his team beat the Chicago White Sox 11 to 3.

July 8
Ohtani slammed his first home run since his return. That homerun enabled his team to win against the LA Dodger 4 to 3.

In the game against the LA Dodgers, he had no hits. But he contributed. He was walked, stole to 3rd base than came home to equalize. His team defeated the Dodgers 3 to 2.

July 4
Ohtani returned to the team after having to recover from his injury, disabling him to pitch. Ohtani contributed with the bat. He had a single hit and a double. His team beat the Seattle Mariners 7 to 4.

May 20
Ohtani started. He pitched the longest innings or 7 2/3. He gave up a home run to the Tampa Bay Rays. The Angels won 5 to 2. Ohtani earned his 4th win.

May 10
Ohtani homered. It's his 5th this season. He hit another base hit and helped the Angels beat the Minnesota Twins 7 to 4.

May 6
Ohtani pitched in front of Ichiro's team. Until the 6th inning he did not give up any runs. But in the 7th inning, Ryon Healy homered a 2 run off him. Still the Angels won 8 to 2 against the Seattle Marines. It's Ohtani's 3rd win.

Ohtani started. He pitched superb, striking out 12 times and giving up zero run in 7 innings. The Angels beat the Oakland Athletics 6 to 1.

Again against the Cleveland Indians, Ohtani slammed a 2 run home run on Apr 4. It's his 3rd home run in 3 games in a row. His team beat the Indians in the 13th inning 3 to 2.

Ohtani batted for the first time this season in Anaheim on Apr 3. His first time at bat created history. The hitter, outfielder and pitcher slammed a 3 run homerun. He had 3 hits in all and took his team to a 13 to 2 victory over the Cleveland Indians.
